Look under Alternative Minimum Tax.

Will say this about Solar(Crawford) if they keep their players this year(I don't think they will make d1 based on the schedule) they will roll in D2 next year and finish top 2 and be right back in d1 when it starts to matter.

Well, that's assuming that a few top players won't jump ship and go somewhere else.CLUB31 wrote:Will say this about Solar(Crawford) if they keep their players this year(I don't think they will make d1 based on the schedule) they will roll in D2 next year and finish top 2 and be right back in d1 when it starts to matter.

That's what I said...I also don't think as many kids change teams as everyone thinks. Most coaches don't cut a kid that helped them make d1 or d2 at the u12 level and there are not that many spots avaliable. Exceptions to the rule, sure, but for the most part I would say if there are 15 boys on a current d1 team 13 or 14 will be on the team next year.

C'mon GO, surely you're up on the issue. You wanted change, well it's coming. Just get on google and look at the President's proposed tax hikes for 2011. Who exactly do you think he's coming after, certainly not all those smart young people that voted for him. Those people are only the ones that will reap the benefits without much sacrifice, exactly what the Democrat system is all about, right.

It will be too bad if Solar does not make D1, because with the addition of a couple players, that team would be top 5 in D1 easily. If they don't, hopefully they stick it out and stay together for a year.

I like your optimism, but I would think that teams that squeak into d1 would really try to beef up their roster. Craft, being head and shoulders above everyone, might keep his 13 or 14, but I see others trying to shuffle.

That's 50-60 kids from the current D1 group doing the shuffle this Spring. That's a lot of movement.

Okay I did and the AMT are scheduled to be lower in 2010 than they were in 09 unless congress passes legislation to change it. Ther was a small increase for 09 but no where near as impressive as the one for 08. The AMT is also not exactly a tax, it is a calculation that helps to determine which you pay. The regular tax or the AMT but not both. It was enacted in the 70's so that's gonna be a no there. Also the exclusion of a tax cut does not count as a tax increase. Surely we are not counting the bush tax breaks for higher income or Reagan capital gains cuts as an increase in Taxes for thos who do not qualify
Looks up the propossed 2011 tax hike like you suggested. Seem to have no official backing but is noted in several place but all traced back to the original source coming from "the Heritage Foundation" a conservative policy research and anaylisis group. Hardly the impartial source I was looking for. Again FEAR seams to be the main component in play A theoretical budget and tax increase that has yet to be made or approved more than a year away. Come on guys "weak sauce" Here's some help. He does want to let the temporary bush tax cuts for higher incomes expire. Of course congress doesn't need his help to extend them so that may or may not come to fruition. Hey that's something right? Sounds like you are scared of something and you aren't even sure of what it is or why. But "they" told you the bogey man is coming. Oooo scary stuff. What took hundreds of years to build will be destroyed in only 4.

Can we please stop this asinine, political bravado! Start your own thread (preferrably on another board) if you want to pound your chest about how awesome socialized medicine is or bitch and moan about the bullet shortage or even argue about what constitutes a "tax"! At the end of the day, the game of soccer should be an escape from the realities of politicians who are merely servants to their own, corrupt agendas.... kinda like most NTX Soccer parents. And just for the record: Taxes=BAD! Bullets=GOOD!go99 wrote:whyme wrote:Look under Alternative Minimum Tax.

Not sure what happened here gab. We used to be a country of great people, ideas and deads. Now we glimpses of our former selves ruled by anger, fear and hatred of each other. Former greatness afraid of it's own shadow. Nothing get's done because we have made it so that there are only 2 sides and they are required to hate each other. Democracy is compromises and the coming together of ideas and this is dead. And yes let's move on, but I did not bring it up

just wait. look at all the corporate tax laws that this current administration is allowing to quietly expire. It is all smoke and mirrors with the health care issue. Those are the laws that the common people do not hear about. Only business owners that are responsible for hiring millions of workers. This will equate to millions of dollars in taxable income for the small business owner.

Yes all in good fun.
With the rain, nothing else to talk about. How many other threads can we try to discuss training techniques, how great a team is, how bad a team is, who the best coach is, who the worst parents are, who is going to beat whom, etc. It is the same ol' from the same ol'. After a little rant about politics, it explains why some posters think the way they do about soccer.

Yeah, it reminded me that I am in Texas, and that I'm surrounded by "compassionate" conservative cowboys and that there was a reason for my nonchalance towards politics, here.

Any idea how much movement there was last year in this age group? Every season and age group are different but this may give us an idea of both average tam turnover as well as which clubs tend to have the most.
Does anyone know where the most expected movement will take place (e.g. DT1... none, etc)?
Danke.

Re: 99 The way I see it....
As the teams hit the home-stretch, 6 D1 spots are locked-up. Along with Texans, Andro Red and Texans South; FC Dallas, Solar Red and Barcelona are now also mathematically assured of a top 10 finish and a bye into D1 for next season.
As for the last 4 spots, Comets and Gunners can each punch their D1 ticket with 1 more win. Fort Worth and Chivas also have their fates in their own hands and can make D1 with 2 wins. Club Classic, Solar and Madrid each need to win 2 and hope others in their way stumble.
None of the 7 still battling it out for the last 4 spots go head-to-head the rest of the way, so the magic number could be quite fluid. 30 points gets you in the door today. That number could end up being as low as 24 if all hell breaks loose (i.e. all 7 lose their last 2), though I doubt the number will be less than 27.
FC Dallas Gold and Azzurri are still mathematically alive for the 10th D1 spot, but it would take the most unlikely of scenarios to unfold for either to land there. They are all but guaranteed D2 spots, along with Texans Red, ASG Gold and FC Dallas South. FC Dallas Blue and FC Force are locked into D3 spots for next season.
Here are this week's most intriguing match-ups:
Saturday, 3/20
Texans South v Madrid
Texans v Solar Red
Solar v FC Dallas Gold
Andro Red v Club Classic
Azzurri v Gunners
Fort Worth v Texans Red
Barcelona v Chivas

Have a feeling DT(Connell) get FWFC and Barcelona beats Chivas. Along with a Solar(Crawford) win would make things interesting. CC would have to pull one off this weekend.

nah FWFC knows they got to win and DTR is not too much of a threat on scoring!CLUB31 wrote:Have a feeling DT(Connell) get FWFC and Barcelona beats Chivas. Along with a Solar(Crawford) win would make things interesting. CC would have to pull one off this weekend.
I can see Solar taking a draw with the late suprise FCD Gold but not a win
Chivas has a good track record against Barcelona and they know they got to win
and CCO has ZERO chance against Andro Red!!!!
