Well the final two years of a great journey with our boys. How things have changed since the "go go" days after going select at U11. Parents are mostly quiet on sideline enjoying the games. Players drive their own cars to practice and games. It is exciting to watch the players are much more mature and skills play a much larger role in the game then in the early years. Salute to the Texas Longhorns Soccer Club 94 Gold team who won the Memorial Day Cup today with a hard fought victory over a very strong CDI 94 team. Next stop for the 94 Gold team is the Gothia Youth World Cup in Gothenberg, Sweden in July and friendlies against english premier league academy teams in England. Was just talking with my 94 about how many were on the original U11 team. We have 5 originals and 2 from U12: 1 that came back (was in our pre-select group) after trying out another team, and one that came up from our Plano Premier team. We also just lost 1 original and 1 year #2 player this year to the Academy. We are only at 17 (2 keepers) this season so that would put us dangerously close to having almost half the team as part of our original U11/U12 teams. Not too many D1 team could ...

It's getting tight at the top! Big win for the Longhorns over Hurst. Big wins for Tejanos Premier over Hurst and Texans. Look out for West Texas, though. They are sitting in 5th, but without a loss. With the consolidation of Solar and Solar Red '94 Boys Teams into 1 and the inability of FWFC to form a '94 Boys team, there are spots in D1 and D2 to be filled which will create openings in D3 as well. Based on past seasons when similar things occurred, the CL seems inclined to fill those spots by promoting teams who were previously relegated. Was watching the semi-final game yesterday @ the Kyle Owen between Tejanos Elite and FCD White when an FCD player put a hit on a Tejano player and laid him flat @ mid-field.
