Deinately ODP. Many clubs seem to hate it but that probably has more to do with protecting "thier" players. The 98 group was a nice practice with good kids. More chances to touch the ball with kids you BB already knows. Fun times, but if you are expecting it to turn him into the next big thing then probably not.

That's interesting. Our coach is an anti-ODP guy (don't know why), most parents are pro-ODP (better quality of players than most games), most players are anti-ODP (mainly due to it just being scrimmages, or they felt like their parents forced the issue).
The 'a game is a game' thought makes sense - as long as the kid is willing/able.

I would be interested to know the coaches reasoning. It is exactly a scrimmage so I would think players would love it.

Our coach is pro ODP just because of the extra touches and different coaching. The boys have to adjust all the time which will help in the long run. IMO.

ODP is not mostly scrimmages if you are chosen to play in the sub-regional and attend the regional camp. The regional camp is a great experience for any age player. 4 days of one or two games a day against the best from each state attending.

ODP is fine, but the name is false advertising. It really should be changed to SNOT (Soccer Networking Occassional Training).

Academy has taken many ODP players. To even mention ODP and HS soccer in the same sentence is ridiculous.
