The FCD PA team will be very competitive in the tournament. They will likely be the same boys that played SU in the recent 7-2 scrimmage. These are many of the boys that played last year in Classic '01 for Pino (2013 State Cup champs) and Gentile (2nd in Classic) with the addition of boys that switched over from Solar and other clubs. It's an excellent team. They came close to beating the Tigres from Monterrey in the Bobby Rhine. I would not be surprised if they are very competitive in their group at the Dallas Cup.

Well I don't. Good younger teams almost inevitably get beat by good older teams...

They won't be younger, they'll be the same age. All of these boys are '01, i.e. they played Classic '01 age division until they were promoted to Pre-Academy. The same kids playing at Richland in recent years against other Classic '01 D1 teams.

If it is the U12 or 01 PA team then all the players are '01 birth or younger.  They will be playing in the U13 Division that has players with birthdays ranging from August 2000 to July 2001.  The '00 birth year PA kids have to play in the U14 Division.

Futbol Sala  facts are facts right.

FC Dallas pre academy beat the wizards easily.
FC Dallas pre academy beat sporting united 7  -  2 in a scrimmage.

Okay so that particular FC Dallas academy needs to play a group up (supposedly cause I have no idea if that is true) U14.

Those kids can play, they pass and move.  Their goal keeper positions himself well and cuts down on angles and actually acts like a defender.

I personally dislike COACH HAYDEN and do not care for FC Dallas academy.
However respect is respect, they are a good team better than any
U13 Classic Team.

Personally I think Sporting Unitied, Wizards, Texas Lightning will get a spanking and go home (based on current form).  If not,  then the state of soccer in the rest of the world is pathetic.

Not to be pessimistic but I give FC-Dallas as much chance as I do any other team. In my time we have faced them several times and they have won but barely and nothing to call home and say we dominated them. Recall that the last tourney FC-D faced teams younger than them, on their turf, with their refs and their rules and still lost to Mexico and barley getting by a banged up Wizards who are just now getting many of their starters back. No...I'm not confidant and putting them on a pedestal is sorry. In fact I'd play then against teams who don't have the $$$ but I assure you would put an azz whooping on them. By the way I doubt it's FC-D parents but people with rose covered glasses. In any event..good luck!

For your viewing pleasure, a 20 minute video of U13 Dallas Cup game from last year.

It's crappy video quality at UTD field between two teams that reached the quarter-finals. A team from Mexico and one from England. The English goalkeeper made errors on both goals as they lost 2-1. They both advanced out of the group that included the Arkansas Comets and Texas United Gunners (Houston).

I wasn't very impressed by the level of play in this particular game. Or perhaps the low video quality is to blame.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wRrgPGGeNlY

There are other videos of the Dallas Cup, mostly of the older age groups. For those with the time and inclination, there's enough to keep you busy for a couple of hours.

This one had some entertainment value. Some. It's another Mexico vs England U13 match-up. This time from 2010.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QDLrwJLJT8Q

None of the younger age divisions had high quality videos posted (that I could locate). It would be great if the Dallas Cup recorded in high-quality production the finals of each age group. Even the semi and quarterfinal games would be great.

Ok! I'm going to say this. I'm pulling for any US team regardless of them being SU, Wizards or FC-Dallas. No, it's not likely they will win but year after year we as a nation are getting closer and closer. We give foreign teams way too much respect and don't pull for each other. If FC-Whatever from whatever city USA is playing...That's my team!

I agree.  Though I went to a national tourney last year intending to root for local teams, but after about 30 minutes...just couldn't do it.  Ain't no Vietcong ever called me a honky.

From the Dallas Cup Web site:
US Club Soccer Pre-Academy Teams: The Dallas Metro Area U13, U14 and U15 Pre-Academy teams can qualify by winning one of the designated Qualifying Tournaments mentioned above. If a Pre-Academy team wins either of the designated Qualifying Tournaments, the team will play in the U14, U15 and U16 Dallas Cup age groups respectively, as the Pre-Academy teams are formed on a January 1st basis.

This is the FC Dallas team that won the Bobby Rhine tournament:

Is this the same as FC Dallas U12 PA?

a u12 pre academy team has u13 players on it! kids born jan1-july31 that are 01 club players thus it is a u13 team with some u12 boys also born late 01 but play on 02 (u12)club teams

Re: So who made Dallas Cup?

Here is what I take as a hint. U-13 PA is not playing in U-14 DC bracket, even though they were ahead of DT U13-PA. They must have declined and that actually got DTR in.

What I think this means is that younger FCD PA-13 players (Aug-Dec 00) will be used to strenghten U-12 PA (note that in U-13 tournablemt Aug 00 - Jul 01 are eligible birth dates, so they can do this, if they choose so, and teams from California did this last year as well). Few older PA-13 players (Jan - July 00) that remain may be added to FCD Premier 00 roster as guest-players in U-14 tournamnet, so they do not miss out.

If FCD does this then U-12 PA would be very competetive indeed.

But all this is just a speculation on my part.

just the opposite! IF IT IS A U13 PRE ACADEMY TEAM it was only 2000 birth year players on it. no 99's as you have on u14 (late 99 and early 00)club team

There should be no '00 birth year kids on a U12 PA team.  The U12 PA teams have to play up in the U13 Division in the Bobby Rhine DT Fall Festival as well as the Dallas Cup.  If FCD U12 PA used '00 birth year kids in the Bobby Rhine then they were circumventing the rules.
