For some reason getting people to tell you what tournaments they are playing around here is like pulling teeth.

Andro Red is thus far planning on playing in the State Cup on May 1-2 (and following weekend if you advance) and the North American Memorial Day Tournament (May 28-31).

Are kids allowed to guest play in tournaments after the regular season is over?

The NTSSA rules are a joke. Your contract goes through June, although you are "allowed" to guest play the month of June without a release. But if you plan to guest play in April or May, you will need a release from your coach.
All the coaches want the better kids to come guest play for them, yet they don't want to let any of their good players guest play with others. You don't think that NTSSA is in cahoots with the clubs do you..........

For the sake of the likes of Speedy, the proper term is "Collusion".

There are reasons for this restriction. What whoud happen if your team signed up for a tournament and paid, but found out a week before that 5 or 6 players had decided to guest play with other teams? A month is plenty of time to practice with other teams. If you are unhappy and want to guest play for other teams in a tournament talk honestly to the coach in April and May about it. 95% of them will give you a guest player release.

The fact is that the rule is written with the club in mind, not the kids. I don't know about your club, but our team gets commitment from it's players prior to registering and paying for a tournament.

The only way I would ask our coach if my BB could guest play for another team is if our team was not playing a tournament that weekend. Yes, we would love to guest play but our current club should come first. Also, our coach has already started having conversations with a few boys, trying to give them the hard sell on staying, how important they are...blah, blah, blah.

Right and they wouldn't back out if they were planning to leave for another team the following year. Then your kids get to play with 10 players or "borrow" guest players from other teams.
Again if your kid wants to guest play with another team just go and ask the coach or better yet let your kid ask once they are around 13 or 14.

Your point is moot and I agree, they would back out especially if they were leaving, so then why bother with the whole contract/release deal. Why give the coach all the control once the season is over?

I didn't realize there was an end to the season.
Also to help strengthen your argument be advised a guest player release is also required to play with another team in June. It is the practices that are open in June.

Do you think the ones who are shown the door are interested in strengthening the team?? Just to see their bb's replaced. Watch what you ask for as no one is beyond being replaced.

Thanks for the warning, I'll take my chances.

I've been away a while-ambulances to chase, clients to bill, people to cheat, juries to lie to. Thanks for putting it in terms I can understand. Other appropriate terms/phrases would be fraud, conspiracy, misrepresentation, deceptive trade practices, price fixing, corruption, organized crime, bait and switch, false advertising, etc.

Something like that. The bait is "come play for the best". The switch is "play only when we're winning 5-0 or until somebody better comes along or we find the right guest player."
