    Panda Cup Disclaimer

Post  coachdom on Wed Mar 24, 2010 4:15 pm

GLASA has nothing to do with this event. The Zen Sports Group negotiated a 3-year deal directly with the City of Lewisville for the fields at Railroad and Lewisville HS stadium before knowing if this event would succeed or fail. The event is sanctioned through US Club Soccer, so GLASA did not sign any sanctioning agreements. As of now, we do not have a full schedule of events and they are using an outside referee assignor - not the LHGCL assignor or a GLASA assignor.

Based on the list of college and international teams involved, it could be a great event. Win, lose, or draw - GLASA is not involved in this event.

    Did I miss something coachdom?

This is kind of a weird post. I have not seen any discussion of this Panda Cup until your 'pre-emptive' disclaimer. Paranoid about something?

I think by looking at the tournament schedule you will see everything you need to know about this tournament.
Nothing like playing in multi-year age brackets--96s vs 98s; 94s vs 96s, and my favorite, 99s vs 02s!

Maybe someone is trying to drum up support for the tournament.

GLASA has long been suspected of ties to mainland China. This Zen/Panda/Sino incursion into local apolitcal organizations and functions is simply the latest version of the traditional party method of social infiltration and subverion. Trying to cover your tracks, eh comrade?
