    FCD Suarez 33
    Solar Red 32
    Gunners 30

    CC 23 vs. Andro
    Solar 22 vs. Figo
    Tyler 21 vs. Gunners
    Figo 21 vs. Solar

It won't be CC. Don't know what happened to that team, but they cannot get out of their own way since the break. Can you say "crater"?

I wish but even if we win and everybody on that list above loses (which can't happen since Crawford and Figo play each other), Azzurri and Chivas both end up with 24 and Chivas gets the 10 spot based on goal differential. Theirs is +7 and ours is . . . Well, let's just say ours is not.

I was very impressed with Gold today. Same kids that I saw several months ago, different game of soccer. Plantit, looks like you guys are heading the way of the '97 team that you spoke of so frequently. Hats off to Figo! Btw, your 97 bb is very good. Tell him thanks for taking care of my peewee! Wink

Thanks for the kind words . Sorry we kind of had to gang up on the bb today. We knew where your teams strengths would be. Had a couple calls go our way today that we were even scratching our head on., but they were mostly around the mid line , soooo? Didn't think they had any real affect , other than some confused boys.
Regarding the 97 thanks again. The last time we were in the same company I was kind of stuck . On one hand I was telling him to move the ball around . On the other , I forgot when we went in there I told him to have fun and that I wasn't going to tell him how to play. He truely does love the game and I think he got a little wrapped up in the fun he was having.
You, on the other hand have an expensive road ahead . I've got 2 with the talent to play. Where as, I believe you will have 3. Is that where The gabbanator was at today ? Working a second job to finance all the soccer? ..
Thanks again and good luck in d-1. Although personally, I think the team doesn't really fit your bb.

My pic was golden. I picked FCD gold to take it. The comets offense was fairly straight forward. I expected Figo would have it figured out and be structured to neutralize it. The real question is would the comets be able to change and adapt. Comets coach was out coached. He needs to take coaching skills from pam anderson.

Why are Chivas and Comets stumbling to the finish line and CC just thrown in the towel. Did these teams have injuries?

Not so sure CC is stumbling this may be just who they are. I think maybe they capitalized off a few good teams stumbling during the first part of the season.

CCO is NOT the team that you've seen the past month. The coach has changed the lineup around, and the result has not been favorable. I think that there is more to it, but saying anything more would be perceived as bashing the coach--who I respect.

Your coach might be wise beyond his years. Getting kids to play different poistions while avoiding getting killed in D1 next year. Enjoy the ride and you guys will do just fine next year!

Its kind of one of those things that you have to wonder what is best? Top of D2 or bottom of D1.
Do you want to be the top of D2 where you will likely do well and be able to experiment with your kids and figure out a few things and develop your kids a little more fully, and also where people are happy because they win more than lose.
Or do you want to be the last place team to make it into D1 and brag about THAT for about 1 month, and then when the season starts be getting beat almost every week, and have your kids scrambling each week and having to play their strongest position just to not get humiliated, and never able to experiment with anything because to do so would mean getting destroyed.

This is a very competitive '99 group. I would venture to say that no matter what Team advances to round out the "Top 10"; each week will provide drama.

R1, you are flirting with the development vs winning issue. I believe player's just want to play and parents want the largest return on their healthy investment. I guess it comes down to an individual decision and how your family defines development.

I agree with fin. I think kids just want to play. I find it difficult to believe that the CC coach would intentionally sabatoge the team so they would end up in D2

Probably wouldn't, but being at the top of D2, rather than bottom of D1 isn't necessarily a bad thing.

I don't read any of the posts above as proposing that the CC coach "sabotaged" his own team, but sometimes coaches make decisions to change lineups that backfire. Sometimes they want to see what options they have or don't have, and those experiments don't always work out. Sometimes coaches make decisions based on a longer view of things and those decisions can adversely impact short-term results. Sometimes parents pressure coaches to try their kid at a certain position. I don't know the reasons for the changes in lineups for CC, but I think we can safely exclude the possibility of "sabotage."
