I don't know the reasons for the changes in lineups for CC, but I think we can safely exclude the possibility of "sabotage."

I agree it was not sabotage based on the way that coach screamed about everything the entire game. He was clearly not happy about losing. We experienced similar issues with a lineup chage that didn't quite work out as planned the 1st half of the season and went through another change this half which has worked out quite well. Lineup changes happen all the time. Has anyone considered the possibility that, instead of an unfortunate lineup change, self sabotage, inability to "get out of their own way" or falling apart on the part of CC, MAYBE, just maybe, Azzurri actually played well and is improving, dare I say, DEVELOPING, its players? No one else has put 5 goals on CC the entire season. Maybe we can play soccer and develop players in East Texas. Especially with an extra helpin o' squirrel heads.

Sounds like the "Squirrel heads" are on the shoulders of the Tyler parents.

And to answer your question, NOOOOOO, the consideration was never made about Tyler. CCO's wheels fell off, that's all. Have fun playing in D2, you and Plantit should get along just fine.

Were you there or are you just spewing forth nonsense for which you have no basis in fact? Maybe I'm too stupid, being from East Texas and all, to understand your first comment about Tyler parents. I guess those courteous CC parents who congratulated us and said we played great were lying to us. I guess our coach who called it the most complete game we've played since forming the team just over 1 year ago was lying to us. I guess those 4 different players who scored goals really do suck as you apparently believe. I guess four goals against the wind requires no ball movement and play development and were just CC's wheels falling off. All this time, I have assumed we were getting better when I guess I should have just asked you if I wanted the truth. Again, thanks for clearing it up for me.

ET, No one is trying to disrespect you and your Cajun breatheren. You guys are a good team that has clearly improved from the fall to spring seasons. The sad fact (at this point) is that CC is in a major slump, largely self-induced IMO. It wouldn't matter who we had played on Saturday, we couldn't get out of our own damn way. This CC team is simply not the same team that played nearly everyone very tough between late August and Christmas. Since January the bright spots for this team have been very few and far in between. Hopefully this is a temporary "phase" and we will find out rhythm and confidence again soon. If not, I might start to believe some of those naysayers who have given us no credit for playing so tough in the fall season and attributed it all to luck. Again, this is NOT a knock on Azurri. You guys played great, but we sucked on Saturday AGAIN.

Dudemon: you may not be showing any disrespect but 4D Record's comment about us enjoying D2 shows very little class or respect. Especially if he is from your club, since you will be likely joining us there unless you fix everything that is apparently broken before your make up game on the 12th. I have never once badmouthed CC or said their first half run was luck or "smoke and mirrors" as Go described it. I was very impressed with your first half wins. On the other hand, just about everyone has jabbed at Tyler for knowing nothing about soccer, our focus on football, our supposed culinary tastes, our supposed pension for inbreeding. We have even been told to "go back to East Texas where (we) belong." I have taken it all in stride and even thrown more than a few jabs our way myself. I just wanted to know if anyone else besides us in our East Texas bubble thought anything positive about our team. I do think we have improved but I also don't believe we were that far behind the first half of the season when every loss we experienced was a tie at half time and we were the ones stumbling over ourselves in the second half of those games. Thank you for being more tactful than 4D and for your kind words. I hope you fix your problems soon because I have been pulling for you since you qualified.

ET, We will definitely see you in D2, and we will enjoy playing you guys. Your coach, parents, and kids have every reason to be very happy with your progress. And I agree that your team handled the ass-whippin' you gave us with class--something that is not always seen after a Classic League game. Hopefully we will get things figured out. The kids have worked hard to get better and they're a great group of kids, so it's particularly frustrating to see their efforts not rewarded in the win-loss column. Hopefully that will come in time....

Personally I am very pleased that we will see you at ODP, regardless of where you end up in CL. The fact that you come back out here from where you reside, only speaks to the love and dedication you have for your Son and his soccer development. Please hang in there.

Hold on I didn't say it was smoke and mirrors or luck. I look at the game against Suarez and I see a game that just went their way. I don't think cc is a better team than suarez and if that played that game several times suarez would win most of the time. They just had a few games early on that they won that raised the level of peoples expectations. They didn't beat Azzuri because I don't think they are a better team than azzuri. I think the 2 team are comparable and azurri may have the physical edge. I love to make fun of the E texas folks just as much as the next guy but that team is every bit as good as CC and maybe better, regardless of changes or fallen wheels.

My apologies, Go. I was mixing up quotes. The "smoke and mirrors" was a reference to FWFC by Plantit. Your comment was, as paraphrased, something about you weren't so sure this is just who they are and that they beat some good teams early on when things weren't going quite right for those teams. My bad. I do stand corrected.

I do think Azzuri is just as good as CC maybe a little better. Not sure how that will hold up, I would assume it would be easier for CC to bring in talent. Although I hear the coach is a screamer which doesn't help.

Guys, All kidding and competition aside, it has been a great year of physical and mental growth for the boys. I hope they will look back years from now and see it that way too. I hope they DON'T realize how fanatic their parents are/were about their kids' soccer!!! It might ruin the fun for them!!!!

That is the challenge out here but, frankly, I am pretty pleased with all the boys on this team. They all work hard and bring their own strengths. There is no drama between the parents or coach and the kids all get along great.

Crazy, I want you to understand that any of my jests referencing backwoods tendencies are all in good fun. I feel that I can get away with that because I was born on a farm in NE Texas and have had lots of family and friend connections to country folk my whole life. So, when I make jokes at your expense, I am making fun of myself too. As far as your team goes, we might see a lot more of each other next year and I look forward to the competition. Your boys should be very proud to be where they are in Classic... it's one of the toughest leagues in the US.

Forbin: I don't take any of it too seriously as you can tell from some of my responses and attempts at self-depricating humor. My point was simply that we take our fair share of bashing on here and probably most of that is my fault for getting on here and engaging in this, often times, nonsense. I am certainly not offended by any of it. I'm not from here originally and used to have some of the same attitudes about the area. I can't complain too much about the jokes since I once got a cookbook for Christmas from a vendor in Louisiana that had recipes for muskrat, squirrel, nutrea, beaver, of course alligator and crawdads, and several creatures I had never even heard of. I guess he figured I could use it since I was right next door. I look forward to many battles next year. Which team are you with? I understand if you'd rather not say.

The coach of CC is a "screamer?" Pleeeease. He's a lot less of screamer than many of the coaches in Classic League. Personally I think he's in the middle of the pack as far as Classic League goes. The few players who have drawn his ire and kids who have repeatedly made the same mistakes over many months, not just once or twice. If CC has any trouble drawing players, it's because they are a smaller club.

I don't think it's any big secret at this point... I can proudly say my bb plays for Figo. He has really impressed me this season (our first with him) as he has blown me away with his commitment to making his players better. This team (including my bb) has come a long way thanks to him.
