    Classic League Reschedule?

Post  Guest on Sat Mar 27, 2010 7:28 pm

When will the rained out 3/20 games be made up? I'll bet after Dallas Cup. Thoughts?

Was indeed there. Playing a regularly scheduled game - not a make up.

When I inquired about this with a league rep, I was told it would be after the Dallas Cup.

Indeed, since Dallas Cup starts tomorrow and there are no league games next weekend...

They are now on the schedule. Any requests for changes will likely be turned down because of limited date availability.

Okay. Getting off work and getting to Frisco from South Dallas by 6:00 pm on a weekday for a minimum 30 minute warmup should be a piece of cake. I'm sure there won't be any traffic either. I'm just glad club soccer doesn't cost very much money or I would be concerned that a whole season of practicing and paying dues would just be wasted time and money. Could we flip a coin for home field advantage and see if the folks from North Dallas can make it to South Dallas after they get off from work. Oh I get it, you just tell your boss that your leaving for the rest of the day so you can get your kid to a soccer game.

I am the manager and I haven't talked to the coach yet. Maybe, it won't be a problem. I just think a 6:30 pm game in Frisco is pushing it. In high school, we actually wait for the team to get there. Then we give them a chance to warm up. I would never ask a visiting team to play without a warmup. NEVER!!!

Okay, I vented and I guess it's no big deal. Just need to work out carpooling for parents that can't get off or players that don't drive. I am making my son get a few more months of experience before he tackles 635 during rush hour.

I'm with you, trying to make it from Lewisville to Richland for a game at 6:30, with a warm up 45 minutes before hand! Will be praying for good traffic that day!

Give me a break. "All the way from Lewisville" Try living 2 hours from the Metoplex, or even just West of the Grapevine Funnel. On a good day a match is a 7 hour commitment. What is adversity in Lewisville? The chardonnay not chilled correctly?

I'm with you one that. Not sure what I am going to do with my 5 min or so drive over to richland. I can even see the traffic as I cross over 75.

You could go across the lovely new toll bridge between Lake Dallas and Little Elm and have a straight shot to PHP. It isn't quite ready for prime time though with LOTS of construction.
Beware when you get to drive through Lake Dallas. It is a speed trap and I would bet there is another one on in Little Elm coming off the bridge going east. The donut eating, coffee swilling 'welcome comittee' can't wait to bring new money into their municiple fund.
Never mind. It may be shorter but you'll save time, money and blood pressure meds going up 121 plus you'll avoid Lake Dallas.

Put your boy in the front seat and get into the HOV lane. That's the only way we make it from Fort Worth.

Depending on where in Fort Worth you live you may want to try 35 to 380 loop for week night games. From Basswood to PHP is one hour. The trick is not getting caught in the 820 and 35 mess. It sure beats the white knuckle ride up 121.

How about scheduling a game at 8pm the night before most of the players have to take a TAKS test-any comments?

They don't need an education. They are all going to earn their living playing soccer.

Since they practice the TAKS test for weeks/months before the test if your bb is not ready don't blame a Classic League game on the result. Also, they have all day to take a 30 min test.

The test is also over the information they spent all year learning. It's not a difficult test. If your bb needs and early night just so he can pass this one, he might need to work extra hard on his soccer because education is obviously not his forte
