SD1, how many of the middle school kids also play Select, in your estimation?

Best I can figure, Trinity Springs has 1 D1, about 5 D2 and a couple of Arlington/Plano players

Here are some I'm interested in:
Southlake (Carroll)
Colleyville-Grapevine
HEB (Hurst, Euless, Bedford)
Irving
Coppell
Lewisville
Also, do the private schools participate in these leagues? After seeing Jesuit v. Jesuit in the 5A it'd be great to see more private schools participate at all levels
How competitive is the middle school league compared to classic D1, D2, D3?

We have beaten two teams that had at least 7 players playing classic and/or PPL. Makes me wonder if classic is overrated or it's all about money.
Most of this kids will go to Wakeland or Frisco HS, Wakeland just won the State Championship this past weekend. Looks good for either school,

Wakeland is overrated!!

Say what you want about any High School Championship, but only a few kids get to taste it. With all due respect to your comments. Any type of High School Championship or Select league Championship will always be special.
With that said, it's about what the kids did. For some of these kids, this will be the biggest game they will ever play, and trust me you will never forget. I know having won two state titles in two different sports in High School over 25 years old.
Again Congrats to Wakeland and any other champions in any sport.

Actually thats average for middle school in a competitive district. In high school that would be considered below average especially at Marcus. Last year Marcus had 3-4 Academy players.
Re: Middle School scores :)I can confirm that is correct. Although, there are rumors that the Academy itself will ban high school play in the near future - not a good thing.gpoo wrote:my2cents wrote:I thought the Academy teams had contractual clauses forbidding playing high school sports?
Nope no such Academy clause. Most HS'ers in Academy get to play HS except for the FCD kids. FCD last I heard forbid their players to play HS.
Re: Middle School scores :)Having watched Marcus soccer for the the last ten years, I think the next two or three years will be average for Marcus. Win a couple of playoff games but can't get past Jesuit or the gigantic enrollment Plano and Allen schools in the playoffs. Marcus string of five straight district titles will be hard to keep going since the UIL stuck Marcus in with Allen and Plano for the next two years. However, if anybody can get it done, JG can.DirtyDave20 wrote:My son plays 8th grade soccer for a Middle school in the Lewisville ISD and his team has 5 D1 players and 2 D2 and 3 PPL, and I know of another team that has at least 4 D1 Players on it.
