Rec and select at the same time

Post by rustynail11 on 10/12/2014, 5:49 pm

Can a player be rostered on a select team and a rec team at the same time?

Not if the teams are both *outdoor* teams registered through North Texas Soccer.

They can play select and indoor on different teams, in case that's what you are asking

Rec and select at the same time

Post by Runflyguy on 10/13/2014, 9:46 am

To be able to provide you with a more appropriate answer ,we all probably need more info on the exact situation. There may be a few (very few) instances players may be on both a select and rec roster's.
Were the two teams indoor teams or outdoor teams or both? Was it during league play or tournament play? Were the two teams part of the same club? (player pass). Was it the Rec player player on a select roster or vice versa?
Any Club official and most team managers and coaches with Got Soccer logins can do a player search using name and gender and track roster transactions. Results show all NTX roster changes and dates, players DOB as well as players history with various teams. Clear as mud right?

Simple answer is still no. If the Texans have an '01 Rec Team (for example) it would be news to me. Common question...my kid plays for a Plano D2 Select team...he has been asked by his buddies dad to play on a Rec team...simple answer is no. Indoor being the only real exception...and many coaches put restrictions in the kids contracts regarding that...

Outside of indoor, there is also outdoor through the PSA - which is not affiliated with the NTSSA - so they can do both of those - but PSA isn't really considered rec or competitive, since it is outside the NTSSA (last I checked anyway).

Futsal is another exception. Some of these hispanic leagues are also outside of the competitive-rec designations.
