Pardon the ignorance, but who's TW? (I thought the other new initials were MU?)

Smurf mentioned MU was Marc something or another. hey, did you hear they recently discovered a new moon near Uranus? Just goes to show that if you look at Uranus long enough you're bound to get mooned.

I'm beginning to think that, the way you and Finish1 seem to have such a love fest going, maybe he's seen too much of Uranus.

With the end of the season near and a match up between DT and Andro this weekend I thought I would take a look back and see if ML really made the difference to these two teams. Just based of the results of CL I would say no. Last year Andro was nipping at DTs heals until the end.
Nostalgic weekend for parents with pre-academy coming, end of classic league for many of these boys... not much more than pride on the line to end the season.

The pre-academy league from US Club soccer will start U13 and U14. Solar, Texans, FCD and Andro are in -- look for possibly Liverpool -- from the NTX area. They will play against the same clubs as the older boys in USSF Academy.

The drastic difference is that it is age pure unlike Classic League. BBs born Jan. 1, 1998 or after will try-out for the U13 Pre-academy teams. This means some boys from CL 98 teams and CL 99 teams will now combine to play on a U13 Pre-Academy team.

It may or may not be good for soccer, but it sure stinks for current CL teams make-up. Just like in the older boys divisions, CL will now be watered down for 99s and 98s.

Personally I think that is unfair to all of the CL 99's because they have been playing that age group for years, now you are asking them to step up and play the same game against kids that have been on competitive teams longer and are more physically developed. Is what it is though.

Marv Both Andro and Texans are both much better. It will depend of what camp you are in. Look at old posts the cool aid has been swallowed by both.

I think its an interesting mix. Kids with Aug thru Dec birth dates who have always enjoyed a big advantage due to the Aug 1 cutoff in CL will get to see the other side of the coin. They will be the youngest players in age pure Jan-Dec age groups. Where the kids who's birthdays are Jan thru July (who typically are the youngest and smallest for their age groups) will be on the older and larger side for their age groups.

I've never understood the age-cutoffs in soccer. Basketball and Football leagues are mostly grade based. Baseball is pretty much grade based (April 30 cutoff - which means that if your child was held back due to a May, June, July, August birth date - they will get to play with their classmates in baseball - if they didn't get held back, then they are allowed to "play up" with their class mates - so baseball pretty much keeps kids in the same grade together). Soccer seems to be the only sport that doesn't give a care about keeping kids in the same class/grade level together.
