Several '01 teams from around the US with Texas and California heavily represented...International teams from UK, Mexico, China, Guatemala, etc.

Should be a great experience for the local boys...Good luck to all.

As usual it's a stacked tournament this year.  There are 7 or 8 of the Top 25 in the national rankings, a couple of Academy teams, and some great international clubs.

Tigres in bracket A, qualified at the Bobby Rhine by beating D1 Che and FCD Pre Academy. They are a big, fast, agressive team and familiar with playing US teams here in N Texas.  They are one of the favorites for sure.

Tough draws for all N Texas teams.  FCD Pre Academy would be my pick to make a push if their smaller size doesn't bite them, but I don't think any of the local teams have played much in the last several weeks because of the weather.  Big disadvantage.

Bracket Winners:
A: Tigres
B: FCD Pre Academy
C: Ravens Wood School
D: Sporta Punto
E: SJ Earthquakes
F: TSC Hurricanes

Not sure if wild cards are coming from the Dallas Cup or the Generation Adidas.  I keep hearing conflicting stories about that.

I'll go with Tigres vs SJ Earthquakes for the strongest semifinal matchup and FCD Pre Academy vs Ravens Wood in the other.  Final pick is Tigres over Ravenswood 3-1.

What do you think PG-Boy???

I also have penciled-in Tigres (Mexico) to be the favorite in the U14 division.

FCD PA met Tigres in the final of the Bobby Rhine a few months ago, so I agree. This is another team that has a good chance of reaching at least the semi-finals.

The rest is a toss-up for me.

Best of luck to the local teams this morning;

FC Dallas PA vs. Beijing (China)
FC Dallas Youth (Che) vs. Ravens Wood School (England)
FC Dallas Premier 01 (Gentile) vs. Sporta Punto (Guatemala)
Sporting United (Videla) vs. Angeles (Mexico)
Dallas Texans South (Adame) vs. Prepatec (Mexico)

First day of action for local teams vs. international teams; the local teams won 4 and lost 1. Not a bad day at all.

All matches were decided by one goal.

Sporting United had a tough loss to a very good Angeles (Mexico) team.

DT South took care of business over another Mexican team, at Richland.

The FCD squads all had the same 1-0 scoreline over their English, Chinese and Guatemalan opponents.
