    Solar 98b

Post  prohibit on Fri Jun 04, 2010 6:22 pm

Okay, I have got to know what event/events lead to a Well Oiled Machine like the Solar 98 team losing players to a rival organization. My own bb was amazed that a team that played so well together would lose good players. Is it the money, greedy parents, coach leaving? I understand losing players off the bench to another team due to playing time, but come on. I heard that there were starters that left. Can anyone shed some light. Surely the loss to TFC was not the end all be all was it?

All I know is that I was at bb's practice last week and the parents were talking about all the stuff going on behind the scenes on that team that would blow your mind. If what they were saying is true then I can understand why they are losing players to other teams and how the unorthodox things going on there could cause a team with that kind of record to unravel. Wonder who will come out on top in this age bracket next season?

My guess would be Solar Red or Andro. Keep an eye on Revolution/FCD.
The next few weeks will tell a lot.

Looks like Solar and KS won't be the team to worry about next season. I have heard a few of their players are out practicing with other teams. Does anyone know where the special one is going? In my opinion the team that is able to sign him will be the team to watch out for.

I believe the "special one" is staying as the coach, not going to Andromeda like his blokies. Yeah, I heard too some of there best players are going to other teams.

Is he not referencing the 99 on the squad?

That team got beat in the state cup final by a small TFC club, right? The previous year they were state cup champions, league champions, every tournament champions way before "special one=99" am i correct?

It's only two years up, right? Don't all younger brothers play with elder brothers? And they don't all end up broken....they do end up strong and tough!

He's on the 97 ODP team, so playing up at that level may not be an issue

Lots of intersting stuff going on with the 98s. The teams that remain solid without losing too many players will have the advantage. SR and TFC were the two teams that improved from their first year. With Solar no longer being a factor and Andro continually dropping...look for those two to take the lead.

I saw him at ATF yesterday, but no idea who he was practicing with - wasn't 97 Red nor 97 ex-Solar.

I saw him at the state cup final for the first time and he didn't do a thing and yes that team was undefeated without him the year before. I was told he's a old 99 so really he would only be playing up a year if he went 97. I don't think he'd get hurt but it remains to be seen if he is ready for that level of play. We aren't talking ODP 97 that is comprised of D2 players and 98s.

Saw him play in the state cup and his performance said more about solar than it did about him. He is a great kid and a great player. I felt bad about what solar did for him. A great midfielder with the ability to control a game and they stuck him up top and launched balls to him so they could win games. Solar was bad for his soccer so I am glad to see him move on. He will do fine with the 97's and hopefully the bigger size will help him focus on the soccer aspects of his game not the physical aspects. Love to see his skill and don't like to see him physically overwhelm the game.

Solar 98 success is not built on one 99 player, that team was state cup champion, etc due to multiple "star" players. Unfortunately, the final was lost with that 99 player on the field as well as the others so the blame game would go to the Coach which I think you are referring to and not the team itself. In the end, if you are playing up top you are expected to score to win the biggest game of the year.

I am blaming the coach. The player was a great midfielder and it was the coach that took that away. As far as the team goes yes they were a great team but had clearly gone away from any balanced play. Kick to the chosen one and let him do something. Oh, forgot the kid on the other side who was very fast and crossed balls in. Unfortunately the castro boys were waiting to swallow them all up. So for as great and talented as that team was, they were outcoached in the state cup. So I agree was not built on the chosen one but definitely went that way.

i've heard the chosen one as well as several teammates and some Texans have been practicing with Andro...the cash infusion plus the defection of ML seem to be helping...don't count Andro out

That kid had plenty of opportunities to score in this game and just couldn't ever finish. The one goal scored came from their midfield. I would think a coach of this level would know where his players are best on the field and wouldn't put someone up front that was stronger in the middle. But a lose is a lose. The point is this team won the state cup the year prior and had a great run. I hear they've lost a couple big players so there is more to the story we must not know. I predict Solar red to take over the reins to represent this club in this age bracket next year.

This team has talent, but sorry Passo is a crazy man. I have seen him kicking water bottles yelling at 11 year old boys enough to make them cry.

Great Job Passo, go yell at those 11 year old boys.
