U90 Premier Copa '02 Boys Tournament

Post by SnookumsConCarne on 6/14/2015, 7:02 pm

Thanks to this tournament's organizers for putting together a very well-ran tournament.

In the '02 Gold bracket, FC Premier Forzi were dominant in this bracket.
They shocked Imperial Select (9-2), shut out LP Owen (3-0), breezed by Texas Premier Arsenal (6-3) and ran over Team X (6-2).
These kids will win D2 next season and make noise in D1 the following year.
Congrats FC Premier.

There's no results on who won in the Silver bracket between LP Gerrard and FC Dallas East.

Still no word from the Silver bracket? I'm kinda rooting for LP Gerrard, since they were bumped down from Gold to Silver for Texas Premier Arsenal.

Tournament was very well run. Forzi looked very strong.
Gerrard won the Silver final 4-0.

Is that the same Team X that came in second last year in the Supercopa and is going to Surf Cup in August? If so, that is really impressive for FC Premiere and I would say they are a D1 top 5 level team. Team X is made up of a lot of great players.

Did they have the 04 playing up with the team this weekend?

I recognized dang near all of the Team X players. I don't think that any '04s were on Team X, unless he showed up Saturday or yesterday.

Oh, I should have been more specific. I was referring to Forzi's team. They have a fantastic young 04 player who's been known to play up with the 03's and 02's. He was probably there since they were so dominant this weekend. Those Team X boys are good though. That's a fact.

For FC Premiere to "run over" Team X as stated above is surprising because as you said, we know the Team X team is good. I wonder if Team X had its full team that included the kids from Lonestar in Austin and the large group of Futsal players.

FC Premiere should roll their league this year.

Man, you're confusing me here.
The only dominant players were these 2 tall players for Premier.
I didn't see any "Little Messi" out there.

Oh. Well, if there's an '03 or '04 playing at that level, why hasn't the PA FCD, Solar, or Texans snatched him up?
I didn't see this kid due to being worried that my runt was going to get trampled on a break-away.

My BB doesn't have facial hair.
So funny hearing all of these boys yelling for the ball with their voices changing, then I hear this high-pitched "squeaking". lol!

Thanks! It was one of those tournaments when all of the boys had a really good time, played great team soccer and smiled. Loved it!

FC Premiere should roll their league this year.

The team that played on Sunday's final game was more like Team (X-5) and the missing players were not necessarily playing at their regular Garland outdoor league drunken

Had to love the double straight Red cards on LP Owen during their match against Team X when it was 2-2. While the tournament was run well, the ref in that game lost his mind and cost them (at a minimum) a tie. At least the tournament realized the mistake and repealed the cards after the game. I do agree that U90C did a good job. We enjoyed the matches.

The ref did go nuts.
But LP's parents didn't help with the hurled insults in English and Spanish at the ref during the 1st & 2nd half. He obviously was bilingual.
Team X played well.

Just curious, but is that Imperial team another Team X tournament "Super Team"?
It would be nice if LP Owen, DT South, & Mexico FC could combine to make a tournament team like that.
They can have a cool name like "Steelers FC" or something just a awesome.
Just putting it out there.

Yes, Imperial is a tournament team. Quite a few D1 players on the team, but I think it's also a mix of some 03's and 02's and I believe this is their first tournament together so maybe they need some time to gel...

Hey Chili Con Carne that's a good idea trying to make a tournament team but you want them called Steelers FC. I bet you want them to wear skirts and put on lipstick too? Cmon now Sir. How about Sippers FC?

Actually, they looked pretty good against LP Owen.
Some of the kids I've seen before from 2 different D1 teams.
Surprised by the Forzi game. But that was their 1st game.
LP got lucky on that break-away that hit off our goal post.
It was a good game.

Kinda hard to gel though if the only time you play together is at a random tournament from time to time IMHO.

However, it was a fun game between LP Owen and Imperial.  That's what these summer tournaments are about when you have so many guest players and such. I enjoyed watching all but the first match. Smile

Team X made it to last year's Super Copa finals.
