I think it is more of a function of another small club throwing in the towel against the bigger club competition. WR started CC and has worked for years to build it the right way. However, once he starts extending out to grow, he loses coaches and teams to bigger clubs. I think the years of trying to balance budgets, hire and keep good coaches, and field Classic level teams have taken its toll on him.
At Liverpool, he gets to be DOC, without having to worry about the admin / financial issues. More focus on coaching and developing players. Not sure that he will be able to change the culture of Liverpool, but, he has a better chance of growing the club than he did at CC.
I suspect in 2 years, he will be creating / joining a new club to start over "the right way".
