Top Five in D1 are so close to each other it's rediculous.
Solar 98's finally coming down to earth after losing players. TFC has lost a few and gained a few, at the same time.
Solar Red is rising. Andromeda and DT have both robbed some players from Solar.
I think the top team will be whoever can land the stud from Pumas. Rumor has it that Solar Red and Andro are sniffing around for him.
He's easily one of the top 5 players in D1. He could easily tip the scale, wherever he lands.
    Also the HU striker.

All I can say is wow what do these kids and parents want, winning and on some teams having fun is obviously not enough. I'm sure some of you veteran soccer parents can enlighten me.

Enjoyment of the game ought to be paramount; unfortunately, particularly in the U11 to U14 years, thoughts of college scholarships dance in the heads of many parents. They usually realize the folly of this after a few years.

I am not sure why so much is made about kids moving teams... You are PAYING for the right to play. It is the same on all of these teams you have to pay to play. I could understand if none of the kids had to pay so maybe their would be team loyalty, but if you have to pay $2500 regardless of what team you play for... whats the big deal about switching. If anything your BB will get to meet new kids, get exposed to different coaching techniques each year which will make them a better all around player.

A lot of movement, though, is by parents looking for the best scholarship...that the rest of us pay for! Forget loyalty. Harsh reality.

Heard from a reliable source that #20 from HUFC is gone...likely to a 97 D3 team. So, he probably won't be helping any 98 team. However, that means HUFC has openings up front.

Has anyone heard how the Club Classic merge with Liverpool is working out for the 98s?

Parents the best thing to do is call the club, team or go to website. Teams and coaches will tell you their needs. Below is a link of clubs and teams in the area. Not every team is listed but it will help some. Most of what you see and read here is not always up to date. Hopefully this list helps.

will be interested to see what the D2 Liverpool 98 team has for the upcoming year. They seem to have struggled recently in June tourney's. Maybe they have some kids out on vacation ?. I had also been told 2 LP players had guested with D1 Andro for the Memorial Day tourney.

    D1
1: SOLAR SC 98B (SMITH) - see solar 98 thread...has openings...have heard a lot of kids trying out - Heard they lost 2 of their top players from last year (both strikers) to the 97 team. Picked the best player from TFC Royal (stud striker) who may actually be an upgrade over what they lost!
2: TFC 98B ROYAL (CASTRO) - 2-3 spots...have not heard if they are having a good showing or not – heard they lost 4 – 5 starters including their top 2 players. Also heard they did not have a lot of high quality kids trying out. Suspect they will drop significantly in D1 standings as they will struggle to score this season.
3: SOLAR SC 98B RED (DELEON) - may lose 1 or 2...has pleny trying out for those spots -
4: ANDROMEDA 98B (GENTILE) - all set...a ton of kids from other D1 clubs trying out as well - Heard they picked up some top talent from D1 and D2. Could be making a move up the rankings.
5: DALLAS TEXANS 98B (CRAFT) - 3-4 spots...a ton of kids trying out. Lot’s of changes. Not sure if they have improved much.
    6: DALLAS TIGRES ACADEMY 98B GOLD (MEDINA) - 2-3 spots -
7: REVOLUTION PREMIER 98B/FC DALLAS - 2-3 spots...not sure how many rev kids are staying...has quite a few trying out. Heard they have lost several starters, lower quality replacements. Will struggle to stay D1 this year.
8: REAL MADRID AC 98B (AREVALO) all set -
9: KICKS FC 98B (CASTANEDA) all set -
10: TFC 98B (ANGELL) all set – Heard they picked up a lot of top talent. Replaced several of their players for upgrades! Should be able to hang onto D1. May now be the best TFC team in the 98 age group.

    D2
1: PUMAS ELITE SC 98B(REYNA) - all set...heard some rev kids have followed old coach here -
    2: DFW TEJANOS 98B PREMIER (MOLANO) - 2-3 spots -
3: HURST UNITED FC 98B BLACK(ASFOUR) - 4-5 spots – Lost Stud striker (scored most of their goals) and keeper. Will fall back into the pack.
4: DALLAS TEXANS SC 98B RED DALLAS(CONNELL) - 4-5 spots...will be filled by Santa Craft – Picked up several players, not necessarily better.
    5: CLUB_CLASSIC 98B ORANJE(RAVESTIJIN) ??? - Picked up a couple of TFC castoffs, relatively unchanged.
6: LIVERPOOL FC 98B (?????) - 4-5 spots - Heard they lost several starters. Most of the pickups were not in Classic League. Likely to be relegated.
7: FC DALLAS YOUTH 98B BLUE (RENFRO) - 4-5 spots – Heard they lost about half their team again. Will drop further behind and will struggle to avoid relegation.
8: TEXAS LONGHORNS SC 98B ORANGE(DAVIS) ???? – Haven’t heard but they played well in tournaments.
    9: TLSC/AYSES SC 98B GOLD(OBARA) ????
    10: FORT WORTH FC 98B WHITE(GUENDOUZI) 2-3 spots

La Furia Roja heard waaay wrong. Know for fact FCD blue has 1 spot and some very pics. Will rise in ranking. Also not buying TFC royal lost 4 to 5 starters. A tight knit group that just won the state cup. Rev/FCD will also rise in ranking this season. Had a good turnout and may have 1 spot left. Solar is way off from what I hear. A bigger shake up than just the 2 strikers.

Recently promoted from DIII to DII, cut 7 players, 1 player quit, filled roster with players from various divisions (DI - DIII).

He's closer than you think...at least on those you mention. FCD Blue did lose half its team, they just rebuilt with kids from various levels. Rev/FCD got the striker from HUFC (at least what I heard) but they lost 5-6 of the original OCW kids. After a lot of looking, many of the Solar kids stayed and they picked up some good kids (not saying they are going to be as good as they have been, but I think they will still be up there in D1).

No doubt solar will stay in D1. Not sure where Rev ended up a but the had a good turnout and will be fine. What about the demise of TFC? sounded like wishful thinging to me. Per the original pos he is waaay off. Again as far as I know FCD blue and REev have one spot and I would expect TFC is about the same. Now what they had at the begginning of the open period I don't know. But his statement did not represent the current state of things wel except for the obvious enthusiasm for solars prospects.

Well, you have to give Rev an upgrade on the offensive side if it's true that they signed the HUFC striker. However, I think where they struggled last year was more on the defensive side. I still see them finishing in the middle of the pack. Yes, both FCD Blue and Rev may have only one spot, but of course that doesn't mean they only lost one. They just didn't find another quality player, respectively, so they are keeping it open. As far as TFC Royal goes, DC always loses some and gains some. The coaching is good but it can wear on the boys, which is why they lost kids even though they won State Cup. They'll be fine.

DC can be a tough one for some bb's oddly he is my bb's favorite coach. I would agree that I see Rev. somewhere in the middles of the pack. Think they may rise a bit from 7th though. Gonna go with the same for FCD blue, I see them rising to the middle of the pack.

Diego lost his best 2 players and 4 starters overall. Actually, they lost 5 starters from the start of last season - 1 lost some minutes over the season. I think they definitely are dropping down towards the bottom of D1.
FCD Blue lost 2 of their best players to TFC. They lost starters to Rev, Texans Red, and one I'm not sure where he ended up. They may not drop below HUFC and Liverpool, but they will be bottom 5 of D2 again.

seen both revs and blue but don't recall seeing blue players out with the revs. So what's going on over at the TFC camp? That alot of losses for a state cup winner.

Has anyone confirmed that HUFC # 20 went to Revolution? I have confirmed that the entire HUFC team left with the exception of 4 players and the coaches son.(Don't think he had a choice) Two of those that stayed were not starters, wondering where the other 10 ended up?

Heard alot during tryouts from HUFC parents, their style and plan was to play solid defense and get the ball to that big forward and let him do what he could. Apparently there had been alot of rumblings at the end of the season about the style of play and many families wanted a different approach.

I would guess by reading many of the post on here that most of the members have a lot of experience with select soccer. For those like me that are relatively new at this I will share some valuable lessons I learned over the last year that may keep you from wasting a year of soccer and some money.

    1.       When searching for a team, do not assume that because the team is in CL that the coach has experience. Find out what their coaching and playing experience is. Taking a few coaching classes on Saturday does not make you a coach! At this age a few very athletic kids can win you some games, but if the coach is not able to develop those kids and only teaches kick-ball, it’s only a matter of time before just being athletic is not good enough in this sport.  If they have no experience this should be a red flag!
    2.       Find out what the turn over rate on the team is. I know many teams lose 4 or 5 players each year, but if you have a team with 7 / 10 openings each year, you need to be finding out why and from a source other than the coach.
    3.       Find out if the coach has their own kid on the team! Again, there are many that coach their own kids and they expect twice as much from their kid as they do the rest of the team. The problem is when you get one that doesn’t!
    4.       Find a coach that is not constantly involved in turmoil within the club and with the parents. This leaves little time for coaching!
I’m sure there are exceptions to all of the things I have listed above, but had I ask a few more questions and looked a little deeper I could have saved myself a lot of headaches! If the team has all 4 of these issues you need to make a quick sprint in the opposite direction.

Sounds to me like you had bad experience with a new team you joined last year, I hope you've moved on and will find all the perfection you seek in the new team you sign with this year.

Perfection!!! I'll settle for just mediocre after the total incompetence we had last year.
