Liverpool Elite vs FCD Youth

Post by kipper42 on 11/15/2015, 8:59 am

What a wild game - very physical , lots of fouls .....Total of 10 YC and 5 RC ..... very ugly at end with after FCD went down to 9 players ,,,,final whistle CR - RC -3 more FCD players . LP had a quick start and controlled game through out for 3 - 1 (W)..... I suspect FCD will have to pull more academy players to field the team in next game .....

Didn't the FCD Goalie get a red? I'm sure Nipper will pull something out of his magic hat. Kipper42 I blame the coach on both ends. Sounds like neither can control their players. That is way to many cards in one game.

I've watched both teams play numerous times and I wouldn't characterize either team as being excessively physical or "dirty". While this particular match had its share of unsporting behaviour and gamesmanship, when a referee hands out 15 cards including numerous reds in one game, there are clearly other factors at play, most of which point to this referee, especially considering the fact that in the 7 previous league games played by each team this season, Liverpool had accumulated only 4 yellow cards while FCD had accumulated only 5 yellow cards - definitely not indicative of "dirty" teams. The best approach in these situations is just to move on.

How on earth did Nipper's GK get a red card? That particular GK is a great kid and a top quality player who works hard and is also a product of the Academy.

Hearing that he got a red card makes me think that the post by geordie11 is the only reasonable explanation and the Referee and "Both" coaches need to keep these 2 teams on a tight reign next time they play each other so we don't have another red card "Train Wreck".

Mr. Fagen's team has no Red Cards listed.
FCD Youth shows 3 Reds.

SnookumsConCarne Dont blame the Ref for all the cards. I have friends on one team and I was told 2 Red cards were given due to cursing out the Ref after the game and 2 were during the game for misconduct. We play both teams and both are very aggressive and physical teams. Just a reminder that FCD team is more the old Andromeda team so maybe that's carried over from last year. Kids are getting older and games will be more aggressive. The Ref has to control at one point during the game. What I dont get was the after fact. Why approach the Ref and curse him out. Not a smart move for either player.

@sokkermom11, I blamed the ref "When..."?
And who lets their 13/14 year old use profanity at an adult.
CPS would definitely be visiting me afterwards.
But, to each their own.

Sounds like the Big T is kicking in on the 02 Boys...er Men. I remember how the big change and the F-Bomb seemed to go hand in hand as a way of expressing one's self as the Big T took over so the parents probably need to have a little chat with their BB's about the transition.

I thought cards carry over. We had a player one year who got his 3rd yellow card in the last classic game of the year and the first tournament we played in May, he had to sit during the first game.

I should have said, card counts don't necessarily carry over, but I'm pretty sure suspensions do carry over to any NTSSA sanctioned event.  If they have earned a suspension, they must serve it regardless of competition.

I somehow get the feeling that will not be the case.... After all, it's FCD vs LFC.... But then again, it is a Texans tournament.  Shocked

Vhf

"Big T"?

Testosterone...some of the 01/02 BB's are already riding high on its effects. I saw an 02/03 BB a couple of weeks ago that I remember from youth academy and now he has a beard, and tree trunks for legs.

My BB asked me what happened to him and I had to chuckle, because I didn't know whether or not I should tell him that he is about six (6) months away from answering his own question. cheers

Big T?

I've heard a 10 year old say "shut up b*tch" to a mom on the sidelines; if testosterone makes kids worse; the ref will need to check the wankers sock for a knife in a couple years.

Obviously the blame is with the mother and the father; cue the Oompa Loompas.

I totally agree!
I remember a kid when my BB was in U-9 tell an adult "Shut the **** up!
I don't know if the adult was the parent or not.
But they were on that kid's team's sideline.

With the way some parents behave on the sidelines, it's no wonder that their kids do the same. Class breeds Class

Totally agree with you! The big T isn't the cause, but it does make a bad behavior even worse and definitely affects a BB's ability to have a quick outburst.

A 9 or 10 year old spewing out that kind of language needs a serious attitude adjustment from their parents.

Well, unless it was an old kid playing on a younger team, it dang sure happened.

I made sure to mention that I knew the kid and it was noteworthy to me, because I remember when he was just a little BB.

It's not like some tournament's we have been to where the magic kid drives his own vehicle to the game and gets in a good shave before he heads out to play against the other 12 year olds. Twisted Evil

Yeah, I think parents have a lot to do with it.  Sometimes you have to look at the coach as well.  When I used to help coach my BB team at the Academy level, we had another u-10 team playing behind us and our benches backed up to their benches.  That coach was dropping F-bombs, telling them they were playing like poop, but the s word version, etc.  I finally turned around and asked him if he could refrain from using that language.  So if the coach talks to them like that, it must be ok for them to talk like that to the refs.

As far as my BB, I told him I have CPS on speed dial, and he can use my phone to call them anytime he wants.  So far so good. cheers
