    SDL vs PrimeTime League

Post by soccerfan16 on Sat Jul 17, 2010 12:41 pm

Does anyone have opinions on whether SDL or Primetime has better competition? We play the Primetime tournaments and keep getting invited to their league but the SDL locations are convient.

In response to PAL's re-organization, the Greater Lewisville Area Soccer Association (GLASA) has created the Elite Academy League.

The EAL is an NTSSA-sanctioned academy league that will play on Sunday afternoons at Railroad Soccer Complex and Lake Park Soccer Complex. The league is open to boys and girls teams from all clubs across North Texas.

The GLASA website will be updated this week, but here is the information you need to know about the Elite Academy League:

    Format:
    U9 Silver, U9 Gold = 9v9, 25-minute halves
    U10 Silver, U10 Gold = 9v9, 25-minute halves
    U10 Platinum = 11v11, 30-minute halves

All teams will be scheduled to play 10 games. If rain affects the schedule, GLASA guarantees that all teams will play at least 8 games.

Each game will have 3-person crews of competitive-level referees.

    Other benefits of the EAL:
    - Teams are eligible for all NTSSA-sanctioned tournaments
    - Schedule requests taken in order to work with coaches with mutliple teams in EAL and Girls Classic League (which also plays at Railroad)
    - Use of Gotsoccer for online registration, game schedules, posting scores, and record keeping
    - Referee fees included in registration fees
    - Nets and corner flags provided by GLASA

    Registration link: https://www.gotsport.com/forms/app/?EventID=11992

    Registration deadline: August 31st

    Registration fees: 9v9 = $650, 11v11 = $700. This is for a 10-game season and includes all referee fees.

If you have additional questions, feel free to email Mike Malone at general.manager@glasasoccer.org

I thought ntssa forbid, scolded and spanked a league for 11 v 11, hence why pal is 9 v 9 ? How is eal able to be a ntssa league and offer 11 v 11 ?
Also is eal girls only or both girls and boys ?

From what I am hearing there will be some tough competition in Primetime this fall. With Primetime getting the Grand Prairie soccer fields that gave them the edge over PAL. some of my parent friends have said their coaches are telling them that is where they are going i.e. Texans teams, Solar teams, Wizards and others.. The only issue with that is what will the coaches do when it comes to playing in north Texas sanctioned tournaments? One thing you may see is primetime having more tournaments at the GP location.

Your best bet is playing both. Play SDL on Saturdays and Primetime on Sundays.

I am bit curious in to what Primetime has in store now that they have better fields and a centralized location. Will that bring in better competition? There wasn't much the last few seasons.

Is Primetime the best option for teams on Sunday now that PAL has changed?

9v9 is not an NTSSA rule. When Chamber ran PAL and CAL, they opted for 9v9. NTSSA sanctions tournaments that play 11v11, so EAL is offering 11v11 for the league. There is debate as to which is best for development, but there is a market for both 9v9 and 11v11. EAL is open to boys and girls teams.
