they will get beat probably every game

That 00 DT team is really good. Don't see them returning home winless. IMO-Another excellent PP team that got better going into Select.

They might win 1, but it is a huge step up, for them or any other 00 playing 99's. i think people underestimate the difference that year makes. Certainly the team/coach/parents have a healthy ego, which is good. Now let's see what happens.

Yeah, you gotta give them a win over ASG. Don't know anything about the Edmond team. The Solar Red game will be the one to watch. None of mine in that age group, but I say DT takes it.

Better lookout that is a good team. No one wants to give the 00s any credit.

lol they will not beat ASG given they still have that stingy defense maybe the OK team but no way will they even come close to beating SR!!!! SR will beat them by several goals! easy!

    1. FC Dallas Youth (Suarez)
    2. AC Longview (Yoder)
    3. Hurst United SA (Dane)
    4. Kernow Storm FC (Penna)
    5. CD Chivas (Hernandez)
    6. Dallas Texans White (Connell)
    7. Andromeda SC (McLemore)
    8. Mitlan (Posadas)
    9. Comets SC (Badii)
    10. TFC Blue (Garrett)

Anyone else have thoughts on D2?

TFC Blue is probably not in a relegation position (should be mid-pack) & AC Longview is also mid-pack.

Your comment on TFC Blue is based on, the win over Mansfield in the first round of QT. They played four tournaments this spring and only have two wins over TFC Phillips. They lost to AC Longview 6 - 0 in the QT. They will be in relegation position.

Its based on watching them play. The coach is working on ball distribution and other skills, from what I saw and it will show results this coming season. They obviously aren't there yet but also come from a stronger organization than some of the teams shown above them. I wouldn't put too much stock in the last game of a 2-week qualifier for a team already eliminated from Div I. My main point is that they should not be 9 or 10, probably 6-8. As for Longview, they only scored in 2 of 6 games. As always, it is just an opinion & only time will bear out whether it is right or wrong.

Agreed frank. TFC Blue has won 3 games this year, Mansfield (a team that was eliminated in the first weekend of the QT) and TFC Phillips (a team that did not enter the QT). And, Middle, if you don't think that a group of 10 year olds and their coach are trying their best to win then you are more cynical than most people. I am certain that they would have been thrilled to win a game regardless of whether it was the last game of the QT and regardless of whether they were aware that they would be in D2. Maybe they are not 9-10th but they appear to be on the bottom half of the group and someone has to finish 9-10th. Was just an estimation on my part based on the records to date. Certainly wasn't trying to offend TFC or anyone else. I am sure that all of these teams will improve over the course of the year. As for Longview, they didn't score in 4 of the 6 games, you are right about that, but they gave up less goals over the 2 week QT than any other D2 team and according to DadofD (above) the only team with a pos. goal diff.

AC Longview is hard to predict. They appear to be able to beat up on lower teams, but are not able to score on better defenses.
In weekend #1 they lost to D1 teams Tejanos (0-2) and the Bandits (0-4). Then they whipped up on FCD White (6-1) who didn't make Classic. That gave them a -1 Goal Diff in weekend #1.
Then in weekend #2 they lost to D1 teams Toros (0-2) and NTxStriker (0-3). Then they beat up on TFC Blue (6-0) ---- TFC Blue might have a long year. That gave Longview a +1 Goal Diff in weekend #2. They were the only team in D2 to pull out a positive goal diff for weekend #2.

My last word on QT: The brackets won by Solar Red & Andromeda Red were the deepest (Groups D & G) by virtue of the fact that all three teams that could advance advanced into Div1 (Strikers, Odyssey, Toros & TFC White). On the flip side, the brackets won by Texans (Gall) & TFC (Wells) were the softest with only the automatic seed from week 1 advancing. Makes you wonder if the Liverpool (Lidell) team that lost by a goal to all three Div1 teams would be a tough team in Div2. Metro was in 2 of their 3 games as well.

Both Groups D & G were definitely strong. I agree that Liverpool (Lidell) and Metro could well have qualified if they were in another bracket. As Strikers, Odyssey, Toros, & TFC White look forward to D1 it will be interesting to see how these groups end up in the ranking. IMO the Strikers, Odyssey, Toros & TFC White will be in the lower 10 but IMO probably in the 11 - 15 area and not the 16 - 20 range.

Both Metro and Liverpool should do well in Plano-I would think that one of them if not both will make it to the challenge games next May

They would probably do fine against '99 teams that are not from Classic League. Too bad for them they are playing against mostly Classic league teams, as they were proably trying to avoid that by going to OK. DOH!

If they wanted to avoid some Classic teams, then they should have signed up in Silver or Bronze division.

That really was a silly remark Forbin. You really think Texans Gall are trying to hide from anybody by going  to OK ?Or maybe they are looking for cheap wins ? Anyway the week-end is coming up and I will be there to watch. I will give you the run down when I come back....

Forbin, "avoid"??? This team doesn't have to try and avoid anyone in NTX. That is just plainly an ignorant comment. Gall has his 99 boys playing there, and playing up as well. Are they trying to avoid Classic teams as well in your opinion??

I guess Solar 99, ASG 99, Solar 98, Revolution 98, ASG 98 & TFC 98 are all there trying to avoid Classic teams as well right?

I don't figure anybody is trying to "avoid" other teams. It is nice though to get out of town and play teams you don't always see.

    Forbin,
Either your team got ran over by the 00 Gall team or you are just a Texans hater. That is a very good team and Gall got them playing at all cylinders. Whether they win or not in OK, at least they are challenging themselves.

Unless you plan to plan to beat the top 6 teams in Classic I in U-12 when you play them twice, finishing 11-15 is a better long-term position than 8-10. Unless you gain a talent infusion or players develop more rapidly than the big clubs in year one, you will most certainly be relegated and start U-13 in Div II (after getting regularly stomped). 11-15 gives you a second year to develop, win Div II and begin U-13 in Div I. I agree that 3 of those 4 teams mentioned will finish in the 11-15 grouping in U-11. The most successful of those will continue to play many tournaments & gain experience, success & wins against teams 1-10.

indy gave us his D1 top ten. I threw out a D2 prediction. But nobody has made any predictions about the second half of D1. So, here goes (working with the 10 teams remaining after indy's list):

    1. Dallas Texans Red (Craft)
    2. Andromeda White (Uremovich)
    3. DFW Tejanos (Parrish)
    4. ASG FC Gold North (Ekeme)
    5. Odyssey (Gallagher)
    6. Liverpool FC Kuyt (Ravestjin)
    7. Fort Worth Fubtol (Remmel)
    8. TFC White (Schell)
    9. North Texas Stirkers (Lopez)
    10. Texas Toros S.C. (Calvillo)
