A relatively unknown 18 year old Yank (American) getting a chance at a Championship side is a very Cinderella-esque story. An American getting signed is one thing, an American getting signed and immediately earning first-team playing time is another thing altogether.
There's a chance that Conor starts this Saturday against Coventry. The Coventry/Derby match on Saturday (6AM) is on TV as well (Fox Soccer Plus).

Registered just for this post? Hmmm.
Why should it surprise you? A majority of the posters on this forum do not follow football (soccer) anywhere else other than at the youth level. If it wasn't for their own kids playing this forum would look like TM.

I'm not saying that it certainly helps if you ol' man is from there, and he played professional soccer, but....

It actually does help if your ol' man is from there because it does not count against the foreign born quota.

Stay in school. Get a degree.
Yeah, like that's going to happen. How 'bout, stay in school, gain some weight, get some toughness, and get a degree.
Probably not. Just play in Ireland, eat your potatoes, and drink your Guinness.

I thought he played well for his first game considering his age, location and so on. He got out after 71 minutes but I would assume that's to be expected for an 18 year old. He was unlucky a few times, had a few good crosses, thought he was a bit timid in one or two situations but you can see the potential in the boy and the next few months will show more.Yak Attack wrote:The German wrote:CD is starting today - that is great a - live on Fox+.
Can I come and watch, I get no + in my FSC.![]()
Must say getting FSC in HD this season is great!! Brings so much more to the game.
Anyways so how did the local lad hold up in his first televised start??

When my son woke up he watched the game with me and he remembered seeing CD at BlueSky sitting in the grass and juggling the ball and how impressed he was that somebody was able to do that.
