    Just checking on the results from the AYSES tourney. Wow, Barca 6-0 over CCO!!?? What's happened to CCO? They were competitive in the fall season of Classic League D1, but seemed to fade badly in the spring. Now they're getting taken to the wood shed. Is this a team in free fall? Anyone know if they lost any key players? Has the merger with Liverpool hurt them in some way?

    CCO can be more competitive than you might think if you have not watched them much. I just think they are inconsistent because of the style they play. They have some fantastic boys and as they get older and learn that style better I think they will become more consistent and will be tapping on D1's door soon.

    Forgot to mention what a great coach they have too. He has always impressed me and everyone I talk to that know him says great things about him.

    Just my opinion of course, but their style is based on the Netherlands style, so if you watch much international soccer, surely you have seen them play as they are one of the top national teams these days. I will do my best not to botch this completely as I am not an expert on their style, but they play ball control while also playing a very hard attacking style when the time is right. So, they embrace long ball play and teach it quite effectively. Most of the short ball teachers I have seen here allow long balls (because of how effective they can be) but don't actually teach it. WR actually teaches complete ball control (short game) while also teaching incredibly effective long ball techniques for quick attacks when the time is right. These are detailed techniques that I have not seen taught by anyone else in NTX. The guy is good. The reason I said that style is difficult and might make them inconsistent right now is that switching from playing it short to playing long seems difficult at this age, but he is teaching his boys well and they will be fine. As they mature and develop the ability to really control their long attacks and switches that will make them dangerous... I'm just sayin' they will be a team to be reckoned with as they have some great players and a great coach.
