Ummm, no. Red card both players. Or better yet, let them play. Their humiliated opponents might bust their kneecaps! I would.

Lol too funny. Should get a card for time wasting. As far as the humiliation goes, I would say play better defense. Getting a card and going down to 10 men is only going to make it worse

Go, play better defense? No way dude. You start allowing stuff like after goals or PKs and the game will get out of hand. That's an insult. Going down to 10 players will make it worse for the showboaters. Dropping it to 9 players makes a statement.

actually it's just a regular card for delaying the game. A ref can always give it for any celebration he believes delays the game. Kerlon (the seal dribble) aswered the question "why do you do the seal dribble when you know it upsets defenders and they will foul you?" He said he was a free kick specialist and if he was in the attacking 3rd he could make the free kick. He said he would continue to do it until defenders figured out a way to stop him without fouling. Micheal iring said it best when the players got upset because someone did a touchdown celebration on the star. " if you don't like the celebration, play better and don't let them score"

Uh, huh, yeah, right. And I can't stand TO to this day. Charles Haley should have gotten a solid hit on that idiot...Excessive celebrations draw attention to the individual in a team sport. "Look at me, I did it all by myself." Play golf or tennis, butt wipe!

T.O. and Ocho on the same team now, the NFL should make some good cash in fines.

Lighten up . It was after a pk a 99% sure goal. If the other team wasn't so busy laughing they should have kicked off and scored before the second act.

No, dude. I don't tolerate showboats in team sports. Pull your shirt over your head, slide on the ground, that's cool. Play on!

The over the top celebrations have ruined the NFL for many, and they have no place on the pitch. It's about respect. If players on my team did that, I would bench them. Retaliation is inevitable...

limits on celebrations are not about respect or other teams feelings. It is actually about time away from the game. Any celebration that takes too long can be carded. As far as subs and benching what are you gonna do burn your 3 subs? Sit your best players? Make a bold statement? Statements might fly in kiddie soccer but in the real world statements over wins gets you fired. If it's that easy, I would do it just to bait you into the retalitory foul and get you ejected. Down to 10 and now the game is ours. Competative sport is not for the weak minded.

Dude?(are you 15?) Have you seen an NFL game in a while? They don't allow anything in the NFL that's why they call it the No Fun League.

Retaliate? I win. As a referee, if I see that a caution and add time on the match. There are consequences for it.

Relax. It still is a game and is supposed to be fun.

just ask zidane. He was baited into a head but that took him out of the game and all but sealed his "teams" elimination and stained his own legacy. Rooney said he learned that he had to control himself. Hit temper was often not only hurting him but often hurting his team. Players that are easily baited will always be baited until a team can no longer carry their mistakes. Players are not on the field to be liked or respected. They are there to compete. The weak minded lack the ability to control their own emotions and focus their efforts in a productive fashion for the benefit of the team. For them it's all about "me". How "I" was disrespected. How angry it made "me". Forget my team, the results, and the damage my actions may cause. "I" will do it because it's what "I" want and it will make "me" temporarily feel better. Who is the real selfish one here? The showboater or the player so into his own feelings that he is willing to sacrifice everything because his feelings has been bruised.

Your making an arguement against exessive "me" behavior on one hand, and on the other, you're applauding it, Go figure. Either way, neither side of your arguement has a place in team sports and is therefore null and void.
Deficient personalities often draw attention to themselves through antics because their personal performance doesn't produce the attention they crave.
Case in point GO. TO and Ocho Stinko both create distractions because their own results will not get them the Super Bowl rings and HOF status they desire. Emmitt Smith and Jerry Rice are the exact opposite of that mentality. You seem to be drawn to the former, I prefer the latter. It's a simple matter of opinion.

Dude, I'll take the National Football league over the No Fun League any day. Finally, the league has drawn a line and started fining players directly for their infractions. Why? Because the ref's penalties were not enough. Sorry, dude, you're almost a non factor in the big picture. Just make the calls as instructed by those in charge.

The point is: The acceptance of selfish behavior originates somewhere and it escalates until those in charge come to their senses and force changes in actions. The more we applaude and support the "me" mentality , the more prevalent it becomes. Ultimately, it's a distraction to the game and disrespectful to everyone.

No I thought the celebration was funny but warranted a card for time wasting. You also convienently leave off Michael Irving who's ego was just as big. Dieon Sanders who's ego was even bigger. I am not making an argument against a "me" attitude, I was just pointing how your attitude was full of the "me" aspect that you hate so much. So for as much as you hate it, you basically said you sacrifice the team for your own feelings. Welcom to the TO/Ocho club they will be glad to see you. TO will also be in the hall of fame as will Ocho when it is all said and done. BTW the old mystique of the great "teams" like greenbay (lombardi) etc are long gone. It was replaced by talented individuals who come together and work towards a goal. Talent wins not teams. Cowboys had plenty of locker room chemistry last season so what happened to the wins?

Like I said, it's a matter of opinion. You applaude players who draw attention to themselves. I prefer players who respect themselves and their teammates by scoring points and getting back into formation. Thankfully, leagues like the NFL are starting to lean more toward my viewpoint on this topic and are distancing themselves from yours. Good luck.

actually I applaud players who give it all to win. Players that play with skill and who work hard. But I also like players who would put aside their own egos, need for respect, or hurt feeling inorder to win a game. Hated Kobe Bryant when he bailed on his team in the playoffs because he wanted to prove that he was carrying the team. Loved him when he sacrificed and played thru injuries to make sure his team won. I like TO as long as he can help you win. he did at the cowboys and was replaced by Roy williams who doesn't. so we agree the celebration should have been carded. We disagree as to if it was worth sinking your own team over. I say it was not. Let them be silly, play harder and make it up on the scoreboard. In the end goal dances don't count only the final score does.
BTW hear is a goal celebration for you.

No worries. Just having a little fun with GO. All part of the game. And, please, spell competitive correctly. My motto is: You can never be what you can't learn to spell.
