Have not seen the teams play in a while , but sounds like xtreme should take it handily. Looks to be a tough bracket. Should be a a great day for soccer.

Soccerdad1, what did you do stay home wisely and miss this heat?

    Rovers 3
    Texoma 3
Coach put the stud forward on the bench with two others for showing up 5 minutes to game time. Once the forward went in,25 minutes into first half, he scored in five minutes. The problem is, these guys all played Rec last year and picked up several bad habits. This is select soccer and you have to bring it from beginning to end. Came out second half and laid an egg. Down 3 to 1 with fifteen minutes left. Coach ripped them and ended up 3 to 3. For whatever it's worth, the Rovers are well coached, but Texoma should have won.

    Coppell 3
    Xtreme 0

    Texoma 3
Coppell 1 (own goal by Texoma)

It's a shame if Coppell ends back in D-2. They are good and fast, up front and in the back with a good goal keeper.

Sure would like to know the Rovers vs. Xtreme score........

Saw the texoma/rovers game. Both looked pretty sound! Glad to hear the coach sat those kids. Good game to both teams but felt that the texoma team was much better. Good luck to all tomorrow.

    XTREME 2
    ROVERS 0

REF. help us lose to Coppell would like to play them again with a better REF. and one who speaks ENGLISH may come out the same but it is a good close game. This same ref cost us two games last season with bad calls.
Like Soccerdad1 said you have to get it in the net and we need some work their for sure.

Our kids our so looking forward to tommorrow.
They kind of lined you up for the final. Still do, with different circumstances. I do have one question. How can a ref effect a 3 - 0 differenial? I can understand 1-0 or maybe even a 2-0 result, but 3 - 0? Could you explain that in detail, because I can not see the possablity. But I was not watching.

I'm sure the league would do something if someone provided proof to substantiate the allegations. What type of proof do you have that teams have used older players?

Better ref would not change win/lose status of this particular game.
We (xTreme) would still lose at least 0:1, but that would save a lot of frustration and some points.

Plano should do something about this, make TOEFL mandatory exam for every referee or so ...

Anyway, can anyone post the score for Rovers-Strikers from today's game 8/22?

    BTW,
Today "Texas xTreme" : "Texoma United" 2:1

Yes ooops , xtreme 2 , texoma 1 . By far the best manipulation of a referee by any team in my ten years of soccer. If oscars were given in this catagory , xtreme would be a shoe in. When they quit getting the calls they moved on to leg clipping and taking people out. Neither team could get the game flowing because of all of the whistles and cards being handed out. Not what I would consider an example of quality play or behavior by xtreme. Maybe that is why you had to finish your spring season with 8 to 10 players ?? I do not know what the score of the coppell\rovers game was but hopefully coppell won and will represent with class.

Coppell did win, as you already probably know. I wouldn't agree that they will represent with the class, because they are the best "diving" team I've seen in my life. It seems like they pay fair amount of time to learn proper "diving" skills during the practices. Don't see how this aligns with the "class" No

Regarding the last season, my son didn't play with xTreme, but I do know that they started the season with 12 or 13 players, and at the end three of their players we hurt with broken feet/hands.
So they did finish with the 10 active players.

Regarding the last game, I'd hate to argue because it is all matter of perception, but, hey, you've started it Very Happy

I am not sure what do you mean by "manipulation of a referee" and "they quit getting the calls". To me it looks like Texoma coach was talking to the refs at half-time trying to manipulate and it was pretty obvious the central referee acted really in favor to Texoma team, especially the second half of the game.

And xTreme players were getting calls and yellow card every time, while Texoma players were getting away with the warnings only for the same fouls.

    Examples?
    - your #13 got at least four warnings for playing unfair and didn't get yellow card, did he?
    - During one of the corner (or free) kicks, you player ( I think #11 but I might be mistaken) trying to head the ball, jumped and elbowed our defender knocking him down, did he get at least a warning?

Not to mention hand-ball in your goalkeeper box and several times when our player running with the ball was taken to the ground and foul called in the favor of Texoma team.

So, see, it is matter of perception.

    Tto tell you more.
It looks like you watched our team pretty closely last season and this tournament too.
Can you tell me why your boys went hunting for our defender #8 - tackling and tripping him even without a ball? May be because your coach instructed them to do so, as #8 hurt his knee in previous tournament and it would be really beneficial for you team to take him out.
(Our boys on the bench have heard Texoma's coach saying "I want you to take care of #8" . . "I want two players on #8" several times during the game)
You call it playing clean? Evil or Very Mad

From our point of view, your boys played dirty, and our boys attempted to answer the same way,
but unfortunately we are not experienced in dirty tricks, so we can't hide properly and retaliation is always called by referees.

I guess we have landed in the same division so will be seeing you on the fields this season and will have a chance to settle this Smile

    Best regards.

Strange how 2 people saw 2 different games. I was not on the coaches side , but I can tell you that our coach would NOT want any 15 yr old player injured. He is above that. I have never seen or followed your team, last year or this year. I have spoken with some of the parents of xtreme in another age group and they seemed to be great soccer people. I am pleased to hear that we get to " settle this" later this year. Lets hope that a soccer match can be played without the events that marred today's attempt , It would make for much better viewing

I am really glad to hear and really hope that "#8 incident" was not intentional.

I didn't want to say that our observations are 100% accurate.
I wanted to say that "people see what they want to be true" or "what they afraid to be true"
that includes me, you, all parents and referees.

Today's game was really intense and important for both teams, under that amount of pressure emotions easily take over the conscience.

So, I want to apologize for the previous message.

And, BTW, xTreme 96 parents also are the great soccer people
( well, excluding me, I am the meanest probably because I take it way too seriously Smile

Coach respected # 8. He was telling the kids to put pressure on his feet because he likes to set up or make a run sometimes. He would never ever allow dirty play on his team. Physical yes, dirty never. As a matter of fact he would rip his own kid before anyone else. You are right, it was a very important game and very hot. The ref did not have control and made a lot of questionable calls. Long season ahead so let's enjoy it.

So was any soccer played? It sounds like a bunch of diving, fouling and soccer parent drama. My recommendation is to get over it they are 14 and 15 years old and none of them are going to be playing professional soccer. Relax and enjoy watching your kid.

OK.....so what does the PPL D1 look like...? ? ?

Who are the (4) byes ?

So I guess : Fusion FC - FCD White - Bachman Lake - Coppell United - Fusion White ......advanced to PPL D1?

    FC Dallas Red
    Real Independiente (CDI White)
    Liverpool
    TFC Blue

All four of these teams have their hands full. Bachmanlake and Coppell will make a run. It's a shame they only took 5 from the Q/T. CDI Gold East, Texas Xtreme and Texoma United all could give any of them a run for their money. Should have took 12 for D1, but in their defense, I do not think they expected this much talent to come out of no where at this age group. Usually it is diluted, due to Classic League recruiting.

Two Fusion teams and they both look like they did ok. Are they affiliated with the 01 Fusion girls team out of Flower Mound or are they independent ? How many teams will be in D1 ? I assume the four byes and then 4 more ???
