No indication from anyone at PYSA but they have had our money for over a week now. It sure would be nice to get a list of accepted AND a schedule before the week of the tournament.

Today is the deadline for academy teams. The competitive deadline has already pasted.

You would think. But the deadline was 8/9 for for u-11 and above and 8/17 for academy.

The first game is over 2 weeks from today. You guys are super duper optimistic if you are expecting to see a tournament schedule that early.

However, with the registration deadline over a week past, I do agree that they could at least give us the accepted teams.

I assume, being 2010, that the schedule is created with a computer--plug in team names and seeds and hit ENTER. Voila, presto magic--schedule. But, maybe I am being overly optimistic. Very Happy

The past 4 years schedules usually out the Friday/Saturday before. Accepted team list probably a few days earlier. Also have experienced schedule changes within 2 days prior to tournament start. It is a very large tournament that uses up to 4 different field locations. Remember that there are alot of coaches with 2+ teams in this tourney. Takes alittle time to get conflicts worked out.

It always seems so easy on the outside looking in. But it would have to be able push a button and viola, presto -magic assign referees, field locations, and field marshalls along with the other issues socmom mentioned. It is maddening to have to wait but don't be so quick to judge until you've been on the inside looking out. Tournaments of this size are a big money maker but also a huge undertaking. It takes a large, dedicated, well organized association infrastructure to do it.

PLD used to be a gold level tournament but many teams, including DTR don't even go anymore. It used to also attract the Mexican foreign teams and several out of region. It is still a massive tournament.

Texans teams aren't in it this year due to their "Intra-Club Friendlies" that they are now doing over Labor Day. This "tournament" has been done at least the past two years. Also, Premiere League is playing that weekend.

While tapping, remember that Arlington has about 75 teams (boys) total for the tournament. Plano has 36 team in just the U14 age group, 30 at U15 and 38 at U16. It is a considerably larger endeavor. That having been said, registration closed almost 3 weeks ago and even with the large number of teams I think that they should post schedules 7-10 days in advance of the first game. Guess we will all just have to wait and tap, tap, tap until then.

    Email to manager's this morning

We are working on finalizing the tournament flights and generating the game schedules. Our goal is to release the preliminary tournament game schedules late this weekend. This release should be considered preliminary and will be subject to change until mid next week. You will be emailed when the preliminary schedules are released.

After release of the schedules, you can view your team's schedule by logging into to your GotSoccer team account, clicking on the tournament, and then clicking on Schedule. Also you can view the entire tournament schedule by going to the tournament homepage and clicking on Schedules & Scores for Labor Day 2010. To go to the tournament homepage, go to http://www.planoyouthsoccer.org and then click on Plano Labor Day Tournament XXX.

Also please be aware that after release of the preliminary schedules and before release of the final schedules, there may be time intervals when the online schedule information is deactivated to make changes.

    Thanks, Chip Kruger

Why the impatience? just make plans to spend the weekend at the fields, get your cooler, drinks, chairs and umbrellas ready, sit back and enjoy.

I heard over 500 teams in PLD. Takes alittle time to work out conflicts etc.
