Anyone know when 98 schedules will appear? Then I can at least focus my daydreaming a little.

With all the players are moving around and what we have seen and heard so far, I think Solar and Solar Red are going to be the top two teams of the 98's age group. TFC Royal lose the most this off season so it will be unknown how far they will drop this upcoming classic season. With all of their star players and addition, Andromeda is still the most disappointing team so far. This group supposed to challenge Solar but they are not even close. Let's the season begins so we can end all speculations and the truth begins.

Well, they did knock off SR in tournament a couple weeks ago. Don't know the story on that game, but seems to show upper half of D1 is possible

The secret....used guest player from Puma, but still think they will stay in middle area.

Now I am no expert but I will give it a try.
    1. ASG West
    2. OCU (not sure if they reloaded w/new talent)
    3. ASG GOLD NORTH
    4. ANDRO
    5. MUSTANGS
Now I believe ASG West is the team to beat, so it is up to them to stay up at the the top. Both ASG team had trouble in Beat the Heat Tour. West went 1-0-2, North 0-1-3.
The next four spots can change from week to week, that would also include the 6 spot and the 7th spot.(Sleepers)
    6. LH
    7. DTW
    8. TX BLITZ
    9. WACO
    10. AZURRI
The bottom half can change also but anyone can beat anyone on any given day. Azurri had trouble with players last season and unless they gained some talent to the team I do not see them doing well. LH is one of the teams to look out for based on what they did in the spring season. But people we can specualte who went were and who gained new talent? The great thing is we will see once the season starts. See everyone on the pitch. [i] In the end every team has to perform and the coaches have to make the correct moves to be succesful in any division.

Just to be fair to ASG Gold West on going 1-0-2 at Beat The Heat tournament. We probably had the toughest draw in the whole tournament. We beat Tulsa, the OK state runner-up, 2-0. We were outmatched by Solar Red and lost 4-1. We lost to Revolution 1-0 in a game that they definitely had the best of play, but we also had a few great chances to tie. All in all, a good showing for a D3 team that has only had it's new roster together for about 5 total games.

    I’ll give it a go
    D1
1.Solar—still solid, may lose a couple this year but have the fire power to finish first, helps to have TFC royal's best forward. KS cherry picked some good players
2.Solar Red—will give Solar a run for their money, very solid team
3.Rev/Fcd—maybe too high. Not sure they can win week after week but the sideline should be fun to watch 4.Andromeda—picked up TFC Royal’s other threat up top, added some good offense but lost several solid defensive players. Watch the explosion if they don’t make Dcup
5.TFCRoyal—added some solid players but not sure they can recover from the losses up top
    6.Tigres—same team as last year
7.DT—who knows, they are always very quiet in the off season. Absent from the Plano Labor day list of accepted team 8.TFC—picked up solid players but can they score enough to stay up
9.Kicks—depends on which team they play with, jersey numbers change alot
10.RM—They put together some solid games together last season. I can already hear coach S yelling from the sidelines and the season doesn’t start for a few weeks.

    D2

1.Pumas—the best team not to be in D1 and they have the best mustaches
2.Tejanos—should find their way back up to D1
3.DTR—Difficult to score on, not sure how many players moved to the top team
4.Longhorns Gold—solid team, they could make a run for 2nd place
5.Liverpool/CC—could compete for second if they kept the core team together
6.FCD Blue—played very tough in OKC could make a push in the spring once the team gels
7.FWFC—have speed up top but the long ball may not succeed against the better teams
8.Hurst United—the loss of one player can make a huge difference
    9.Longhorns orange
10.Liverpool—lost the main threat to Andro

Until you provide facts, this is all hearsay. I find it best not to disparage other teams or people unless you can come forward and prove it.

Isn't this whole site hearsay? Not particularly intended to be disparaging, but clearly toucched a nerve. However, Empirical evidence from last season supports that some changes were made to the roster. I’m sure that they were legit since the league didn’t sanction the team. As for the upcoming season, we just haven’t seen the team yet. Regardless they have proven to be a solid team.

Listed in first, and still feel that you have to explain the tourney? I bet your draw was included in the thought process.Be happy when someone gives your team props. Surprised

Solar and Solar Red are the best of the rest. Andro could make a challenge with their superstar roster. DT and the rest of the teams are just not that special to where they can seriously challenge the top two or three. To my surprise, as big and great as the DT, they can't seem to attract any good players to their team. Most of their players are ok and that's why they can't get over the hump. From the weekend scrimage report, look like Kicks and TFC Royal are in for a long year.

I agree. I see SR taking 1st, Solar 2nd or 3rd this year at least.

Why would SR jump to first? Have they made some additions? Was the loss to Rev a fluke?

I have not heard of many 98 pick ups by SR besides the player they took from the Pumas.

I think this year will be more wide open then in the past couple of years. Solar, Andro, SR and DT I believe will all take points from each other. Tigres will round out top five. All others 6-10.

That was no Puma guest player. He was a potential signee, from what i hear.

RQPS - What makes you think it's wide open? Although we all knew Solar lost few of their star players but also gain a few of them as well. Same with Solar Red and Andro. With all that, other than the scrimmage, I haven't seen or heard any huge improvement from the DT camp. I don't think they have the playmaker like the other top three. Unless you know something that most of us don't. If so why don't you shed some light on it for the rest of us. Also, I think the Rev/FC Dallas victory over Solar Red was just a strange one time thing. Solar Red will be fine and easily can be a top three by end of the season.

SoccerNutz07 - I based my impressions on the scrimmage… Pure speculation as none of the 4 teams (Solar, Sr, DT or Andro) have played each other. We will obviously know more after the Plano Tournament as 3 of the 4 are playing.

I also believe it will be wide open as Solar lost some key pieces to their line-up that had been with that team since turning select... (especially their #10 playmaker) Yes they picked up some quality players but will they be able to gel with the rest of the group quickly enough?

Same for SR... How quickly can the x-Pumas player start gelling with this team? Where will they play him up top or on the wing where he is most effective?

Andro picked up some pieces but will they be enough to help Andro finish games... too many times Andro lets teams get back into a game and allow the team to tie.

DT picked up a couple, but can they score consistently? From the scrimmages it seems as this problem has been solved. Will it be enough to stay top four?

So... Like I said seems a bit more wide open this year than in the past two where Solar were expected to dominate.

I agree with you MR.RPQRS, that x Puma boy really good player. I also see why Andro should be better than last year with now players. Solar will be work in progress since added too many new players but #10 is still there you mentioned I show on website. Solor Red will be even stronger kept a lot of returning starters only lost ones that didn't play much. Dulles Texons will be weaker since only 11 are on roster may need to get some players added from other DT clubs before season begins. I like Tigres, they will be stronger and I pick them to be in semi's for Plano Cup, they added 2 new ones from Oak Cligh area.

1.Solar—#1 until someone proves they aren't
2.Rev/Fcd - Ex Hurst forward is good for 1 goal / game. That will get you very far
    3.Solar Red - Great team.
4.Andromeda—Good team but great teams bring their best every week. They don't.
5.TFCRoyal—Lost too much to challenge for the top but still have enough for top 5.

8.Kicks—They will find a way to win 4 games
    9.RM—Headed to D2
    10.TFC—Not ready for D1

    D2

    1.Pumas-back in D1 soon
    2.Longhorns Gold-This team can score
3.Tejanos—rebuilding for a year before they make their run
4.DTR—Solid D2 but not yet ready for D1
    5.Liverpool/CC—Solid D2
6.Hurst United—Big question mark. Can they score without the stud forward.
7.Longhorns Orange-One of the best defensive teams out there. A lot of ties and good possession soccer will carry them through the year.
    8.FCD Blue—Will hang on to D2
    9.FWFC—Speed alone won't win games
10.Liverpool—Heading down to D3. Liverpool CC will "steal their shine" along with some of their players.

Do you really think that DT98 only has 11 on their roster? or that maybe their webpage hasn't been updated? Can't see Hassan letting a top DT team field a roster of just 11.

I have seen him play... he is a good player, but he cant do it alone. If he could do it alone HUFC would be playing D1 instead of the Kicks and TFC. That one player does not replace the 3-4 players they lost. We will see in the first two weeks if they will challenge for top 4

Hurst missed out on D1 by 1 game. He very nearly did do it on his own.

Believe that Andro, Solar, and Solar Red will duke it out for the top spot.
Don't believe any team will emerge unbeaten, but if a team does, it will be Solar, for the third straight year.
But too many new players to integrate to make Solar the early pick, imo. Let the games begin!

    Prediction:

    Solar Red
    Andro
    Solar
    TFC Royal
    Rev/FCD
    DT
    Tigres
    Kicks
    RM
    TFC

    Do you mean HUFC?

Nope. NOt even close. I think it will be apparent by mid-season.....oooo so cryptic. But some of the D2 and D1 teams it has beaten in the last few months won't be surprised. That's my last word on the subject!

So . . . you are asserting that some D2 team will exceed expectations. Sounds like a safe bet to me! Very Happy

Solar has yet to be scored on and they are in the finals... Anyone care to change their predictions? I know I do.

1.Solar - Looks like their defense is just as solid as last year.
    2. Andro - Still cant finish a game but they have made improvements
3.DT - We will know more when they open with Tigres next weekend
    4. SR - Loss of solid bench players will hurt them. With most of these players beginning middle school, more injuries should be expected as they try different sports (like football)
    5. Tigres - still solid team and should edge TFC Royal for top five
    6. TFC Royal - too many losses
    7. Rev/FCD - Have not seen them play but I do not believe the old Hurst player will have as much of an impact at this level. I maybe wrong... we will see
    8. Kicks - They find ways to win
    9. RM - They barely made it last year
    10. TFC - Too much for them
