contract/practicing with other teams?

Post by stangs on 5/4/2017, 8:17 pm

What are the rules as far as when you can start practicing with other teams if you are under contract with another team? If you are released from contract from a team (what does that look like?) can you immediately go practice and play with another team in the middle of a season (January for instance)?

First question that you probably need to answer is related to your contractual standing with the current club?  Have you fully satisfied your contract ($$$ & commitments) with them already?

I ask because if you're in good standing with the team and coach... if you've already satisfied all your commitments for the year... I don't see why your BB's current coach would make this difficult.  Other than just-for-spite, there would be minimal (if any benefit at all) for a coach or club to pursue actions against a dissatisfied customer.  They'd really just be wasting their own time.

If you haven't kept all your commitments though, you're not in a position to take any chances.

Currently, NO MATTER what your status is...you can go and practice with other teams after the conclusion of the State Cup for your age group.

So for an 06, on May 15th 2017 you can go practice with whomever you want without any sort of release.

In a season you can get a release to rec anytime before April 1 without coach's permission (just through NTX) and go practice with other teams. Not play, but practice.

It is possible to get a full release from your current club during the season (Say Jan for instance) which will allow you to practice/join another team. This one is going to take a coach/DOC willing to sign it. Would guess you would need to be fully paid up and have an understanding coach.
