    Gotsoccer rankings '97 Boys

Post  totallysoccer on Wed Sep 01, 2010 4:59 pm

Again, it's been awhile...but I wanted to inquire about the Gotsoccer rankings for the '97 boys. I noticed two teams that are not from big organizations ranked inside the Top 25; does anyone know anything about them? (are there rankings valid)

    19) GREATER LONGVIEW SA FC GALAXY 97
    22) HEART OF TEXAS SOCCER TIGRES 97B

And what is the best route to take to get my team ranked; as we play for an small independent league?

    Thx,
    New Coach

Don't put much stock in those rankings. There are highly ranked teams that have been disbanded for seasons still on there.
But if you want to get on go to small tournaments that are scheduled using gotsoccer. Those are the only ones used in their rankings. So find some small tourneys you can cheery pick champion, finalist or semifinalist finishes in.

The rankings on some random website should not be your primary concern as a new coach. You should focus on developing your team and eventually moving up to Classic League or the equivalent in your area. I guarantee that you will be more recognized for that achievement than if you ascended to the top of the Gotsoccer rankings.

Or if your boys are real good, go to some bigger tournaments and finish high! Very Happy Point is, though, those rankings come from scoring points in their tournaments, so they are pretty heavily skewed at times based on who showed up at what tournament.
