FCD Blue 2 - Texans Red 2. Texans got 2 in the first 10 min., FCD got 2 in the last 10.

Texans scored 2 in the first 10 min. before FCD put in 3 of it's best players. Thought the game was over, but FCD fought hard to tie it.

So are the Tejanos worse than expected, or are the LH Gold better? Or maybe both?
Looks like the Pumas may be in for a pretty boring year.

Maybe the Longhorns gold are better than you expected but I picked them to challenge for D1 this year.

Why would FCD Blue not start their 3 best players?

I asked myself that same question as I watched the travesty unfold. Anyway coach is still moving players all over the place. FCD has the talent in place to do very well remains to be seen what the coach will do with it.

Well, I don't know if it was their three "best". I think he said three "of their best". Anyway, heard they didn't start due to missing an assigned workout?

I get it, I really do...However; In the grand scheme of things, one would think that making them run sprints before and after practice (when they come, would make up for it. Then make them practice an extra practice with the same age group a division lower(skills that is not team practice). They have to make up for it on their own time. At some point, you start to punish the kids that work hard and need those players on the field at game time. Now, if you have a deep bench, then bench the no call no show players. The sad thing is that it is more than likely the parents that need to get their act together, and the kids get punished for it..

I found out that is correct. They missed an assigned home workout that wasn't really made clear that it was a mandatory assignment that would effect playtime. Seems like a silly reason to not win a game. Guess they are planning on not needing those 2 points. I like the confidence.

Is that what happened to Blue in the Plano Labor Day Tournament? It looked like you were rolling along until you hit Liverpool/CC (or does Liverpool/CC just have it together this year?)

that was Liverpool/CC 5-1. I don't think CC is THAT much better than FCDB day in and out, but they may be some better. I think those teams are actually pretty close. FCDB didn't play up to par that game. Didn't hear of any "discipline" issues.

great gameplan by liverpool. Really packed it in and counter attacked very well. As far as discipline goes how about parenting being left to the parents and coaches just teach them how to play soccer.

I'd agree it is mostly for the parents, but the coaches have some duty in that area. Can't let one player disrupt the whole team for example. I remember a kid in academy who was always in some kind of conflict with his own teammates, plus back-talking the coaches, etc. His parents were at practices and had to know about it, but it never changed. Coach tried a few things (run a lap, etc) but finally kicked the kid off the club. Anyway, cant say missing a workout is that kind of disruption, but the coaches have to have some say on the discipline side, for the sake of the whole group. The older you get, the more team rules there are, aren't there? Middle school is already giving out big old packets of conduct rules, for sports and just in general too.

Our coach once started a game with only 8 players to finally crack down on the kids that were constantly showing up late. Not late for game start, but late for warm up time. All parents were really upset, and we played ten loooong minutes with only eight players, but, Hey, it worked. Everybody was on time from then on!

Looks like it is going to be the same old story this season on CL scores being officially posted. Managers, where are you? Still nothing up for D1 and D3. At least all the D2s have appeared on except Longhorns v HUFC. Anyone know how that turned out?
