99 D1 Andromeda Dream Team
What happened here? Barcelona 3-1 over Andromeda. I thought this was in the bag for this game and the entire season. Does anybody have any thoughts on this?

Hmmmmm maybe 11 year old boys had an off day against a good team. Just a thought.

Did you happen to see the Barcelona vs. Hercules game yesterday? Hercules won 2-0, it happens. Hercules plays Barcelona 5 times and eventually they will win one. Will Hercules be in the picture at the end of season?

Apparently, PH223048 has sour grapes about all the players who bailed out of his failed ASG 99 Gold team for greener pastures. 99Red beat Barcelona 2X in the same week to win the Plano Labor day tournament, so not sure where the big upset is.
So, PH, how did your team do against the D2 Andromeda team yeaterday?

It's not quite the Hercules situation but I have always said Barca can play with the big boys if they manage to keep their composure. Sounds like they did in that game. Nothing wrong with Andro. The "special one" will have them rolling this season.

Re: 99 D1 Andromeda Dream Team
There is no doubt that Barcelona is a great little team and can play. But at the risk of sounding like excuses, lets do a little math;
1. Andro had just beaten Barca twice to win PLD Tourny.
2. Big Andro forward is lost to injury in final and can't play 1st game of season against Barca which has impact on lineup.
3. Barca is hungrier to beat Andro as Andro thinks they own Barca and perhaps lets down.
4. Andro can't find the net.
1+2+3+4 = there you have it, it happens, congrats to Barca, we'll see them agains soon I'm sure.
By the way, it was a clean game and if anything, we committed some dumb fouls which cost us.
As Gabbaba would say, Ce La Vie!

No one is upset. Sounds like someone found a green lemon in the greener pastures. The loss of players we had for the most part was a good thing. Boys are happy again, most of the boys that left are happy again too, even after losing 4-3 to a good Andro team. We will meet again in the Spring, and it will be another tight game. But, if you want to mention greener pastures, riding the pine is not much greener. The last time I looked at a classic league bench, it was pretty dull, grey and depressing. This post was put in place to let the Ax and other Andro parents give everyone some inside reasons why you lost, if you are an Andro parent, which I don't see the Andro Class Ax and the other parents have, which means you are a new Andro parent or just an ex-ASG parent. Are you an ex-ASG parent that just needs to get over the past? I will find some more green lemons and drop ship them to you this week over at your training facility.

Re: 99 D1 Andromeda Dream Team
I have seen Andromeda play several times in the past two weeks and "dreamy" is not the word that comes to mind. They have a very long way to go regardless of their coach.
They will win a lot of games ugly this year and will be a better soccer team next year.

Yea, should have left that quote out. Would it have been better to compare them to the Yankees or the Cowboys. All of the right players, but not the right chemistry. Not so. Like I said, just wanted to find out what happened from the Andro Parent's aspect. I will bump your ticket up to "First Class" though so you can have a padded pine seat instead of a gray depressed one though if you would like.

I watched a D2 Andro coach yesterday tell a 99 boy he was stupid and to set his a$$ on the bench right now after they were scored on. That was class for you. How do you think NTX would feel about this? How do you think USYSA would feel about this? How does one feel about this from a parent stance?

How much would it cost me to have him come yell at a few kids for BB's team
. I can certianly think of a few players that could use it.

Some parents seem to think that this is what a coach is supposed to do. If they aren't bursting a blood vessel and looking like they are on the verge of slapping down their players, they aren't really coaching.
I think its either an act (by coaches who have figured out that parents think they aren't really coaching unless they are behaving like an idiot - so they act this way in order to fit the mold), or its a result of parents "rewarding" bad actors by signing up their kids to those coaches teams. The parents remove their kids from well behaved coaches, because the way the coach acts after something bad happens, doesn't reflect how the parents feel the coach should be acting. If the coach is calm and just says a few constructive words to the kids on the sideline after something negative happens - instead of making a dramatic ass off himself, he must not be a very good coach in the minds of many parents around here.
Its supply and demand, if you demand it, they will supply it.

I'll address these two. First, I don't know what you mean by your comment about the pine seat. If you're saying my kid rides the bench, you have no clue. He rode it this week under doctor's orders due to three broken bones in his arm. Otherwise his butt is on the field.
Second, I agree with you totally about the comment regarding the D2 Andro coach. Saw him make an @$$ of himself plenty in Plano. He's not someone I could stomach my kid playing for. So, at the end of the day, it looks like there are some things we can agree on and some where you just have no clue what you're talking about.

Why dont all you guys get over it - Andromeda 99 is just your "weekly" team to pick on this week, next week it will be some other team - give them credit, they are a good lil team and lost one game, give me a break - they are 11 and 12 - on any given day. Barkcelona is still as dirty as they ever were - they were just on their best behavior this week because an A&D crew was there to watch this week. Andro red will still rank in the top this year and like it or not- deal with it!

Re: 99 D1 Andromeda Dream Team
i'm tired of hearing all these parents call these 11/12 year olds "dirty" its funny when you have guest played with a team like this you don't see this or when they are playing "lesser" teams but when they play big clubs its a different story? it's like go99 said they are in general a "smaller" size team and they have to play harder against the physically "bigger" players, hey give those kids a break they are trying to win just like everybody else out there! maybe the problem is more like they aren't paying the "high dollar cost of the clubs" and so their looked down at? their parents didn't have to pay sh$t loads of money to have their kids "trained" to play they are just giving it their best. and please before some idiot gets on here about the parenting of barcelona what team doesn't have some sort of small group of crazy parents on their sidelines? which club was it that got suspensions last year or got into confrontations the most? hmmm let me give you a hint.........................

Middlewing256 u are a looser. Have nothing better to do but accuse 11 year old childern of being dirty. Get a life and do something productive with ur life. U must b upset because ur team lost. While, u dwell on ur loss the "Barcelona" boys are playing on there bikes and ps3 like normal kids should. So, if u want me to show u dirty I send u a personal invitation to join my practice and I will slide tackle u on the disabld list.

elite...WOW such harsh words. Just because "Middlewing" states that Barksalona is dirty, why does that mean "his/her" team lost. As for Go 99 saying they are smaller and must play harder is incorrect. We have played Barksalone since we were U8 in the PSA league, (which Barksalona was kicked out of for dirty play). They were dirty then and are still dirty today. My son's team is smaller on average than some teams but they do not resort to the dirty tactics to try and win. I am anxious to see how Barksalona does in the third and fourth weeks of the schedule. Good luck to all of the boys...

LOL Barcelona was not kicked out for being a finalist in the only season the they played in the PSA "academy" league they just moved up to SDL where there was more competition. and your BB was a U8 then you played for the bandits a very good team but also a team not ready at the time for alot of physical contact they also moved into SDL i believe and lost just about every game. sorry lets play your information is incorrect.let's play wrote:elite...WOW such harsh words. Let me clarify my position so I don't get credited for things I did not say. Barca is a small team. Soccer in N Texas can be very physical. When some of the more physical teams play them Barca tends to respond and get very chippy. Basically in a attempt to retaliate in a physical game. I have also stated that this was not in their benefit. They often lose in these confrontations and I also stated that they would continue to lose to Andro unless they learned to keep their heads and play barca soccer in the presence of physical soccer. Also Andromeda is a physical team. They are not dirty but they will physically impose themselves in a game.

I have never seen them play, but I am very interested in seeing a herd of smurfs "impose themselves in a game". I bet they're dirty, but that's just a guess.

let's play wrote:elite...WOW such harsh words.
One more thing Elite... could you not post using text abreviations like my 11 yr old does on his phone? it is very annoying...![]()
There's a reason why the posts read like an 11 year old's text message....

So Elite Skills, you're threatening to injure Middlewing INTENTIONALLY and you're defending Barcelona.

...Sometimes you have to stoop down to uneducated parents levels in order to address there ignorance. I will always stand and defend our youth no matter the circumstance. When a person attacks children, that tells me about there character. Do, I feel bad not one bit. This is a forum to have fun and express ones opinions. Not to attack children and label them.

Yes, we have your alt ego zilla for that. Opinions are what we are talking about here. While an opinion on a particular play style is certainly within reasonal boundaries of the bored, it does not single out a specific player. If the infraction of the latter point does occur, there is a breach. Upon which time all future opinions from violating poster shall be deemed null and void.
Alternately, if a bored member shall invite physical altercations into the conversation, said poster shall be considered immediately irrelevant.
Enjoy your lunch. Good luck with your skills. Remember there are no "loosers" in the blogosphere, only bored members.

Barkcelona is still as dirty as they ever were - they were just on their best behavior this week because an A&D crew was there to watch this week. Andro red will still rank in the top this year and like it or not- deal with it!
So, if u want me to show u dirty I send u a personal invitation to join my practice and I will slide tackle u on the disabld list.
really man - you will slide tackle me onto the disabld list - like you did the andromeda forward - thats mature!!! Your barkcelona parents are the ones that flipped off the refs after the final of plano labor day - whats that teaching your 11 year olds- how bout this - why dont you take one of your noise makers your bring to the game and stuff it!

Re: 99 D1 Andromeda Dream Team
these posts are the reason soccer complexes can't decide whether to put all the parents on one side and both teams on the other, or the parents/players on one side and the opposing parents/players on the other...
the friendly "jib jab" and fun has left for parents suggestions of slide tackling each other and sticking vuzuzellas up each others arse. good stuff.
