Good day to all. Interesting third week. No ties this week and only three games decided by 2 goals or less (D1 SR 2 v. Liverpool 0, FCD East 2 Andro 0 D2 FCD 2 DT White 1). And, we saw some lopsided games in both divisions (6-1, 5-1, 5-0 and 8-0).
As you might expect from the stats above, some very good prognosticating this week. 3 "Board" members go 10 for 10 in D1 (R1, Chillaxing and goldengoal). Well done. But, based on my "new rule" (not sure that anyone but chill and I watch Bill Maher) we have two contenders for "Picker o' the Week". (No, that has nothing to do with your nose).
Chillaxing and goldengoal (sorry R1 you only picked D1 so I had to knock you out in the first tiebreaker) both got 14 of 15 correct. Even more amazing is that the only game they both missed was the Kernow v. Andro game (both picking Andro to win by the same score of 2-1). Ironically, this was the most lopsided game of the week. But, there must be a winner . . . so we go to total goals. Chillaxing predicted a total of 55 goals to be scored in both divisions, goldengoal a total of 51. Closest to the total is the winner.
Luckily for Chillaxing it was a high-scoring weekend with the teams finding the "back of the ol' onion bag" (sorry if you are a Smyth hater) 71 times. A relatively high average of 4.74 per game. Where did those stingy defenses go? Same place as the cool weather I guess!
So, congratulations CHILLAXING, you are our "Picker o' the Week"!!!
