    Dallas Cup

    Post  soccerrus2 on Mon Sep 20, 2010 3:37 pm

I know the fall seasons early, but those in the top 5 of D-1 need to remember how important the fall season (9 games) is to qualification. Remember the Texans get two of the slots for being hosts (as long as they are 7 or higher).

    Age Group Total Invitations

    Under 17 6
    Under 16 4

So 4 slots for U16 and 4 Academy teams = 0 D1 teams in Dallas Cup. Is that right?

No. The U16 academy will play "up" in the U17 bracket. So for U16, DTR (presume they are 7th place or better) has the one slot and then everyone else battles for the remaining 3.

Wrong. From the rules: Dallas Metro Area U15/U16 Academy teams will receive an invitation in the Dallas Cup Under 17 age group and no other.

I don't think DTR will finish in the top 7, which will leave 4 spots.

I am asking them questions to figure out what they are talking about, so go back to your incoherent thoughts and your little '99's & '00s and mind your own scotch destroyed business.

Yep.. this started last year. Yep.. Texan teams everywhere at Dallas Cup, and at least half of them suck.

I think the second Texan '96 team had 1 win in the Fall and got in. Steller job negotiating it - I'd think it's a great way to get kids to join your second D1 team.

This year's U14 will only have 1 Texans team as their other one will likely come in 8th. Hard to draw a line as to what makes a decent cut-off, 5/6/7 - I'd think it should be higher than 7, but there's no basis for it being anything so - we are stuck with 7th place teams superseding 3rd place teams.

According to the standings: 1 DT in U17; 0 DT in U16; 2 DT in U15; 1 DT in U14.

I think it should be 1 slot for the host club if top 5. The competition is too tough as it is for any team less than that.

I think academy is having a major impact. I think also that the other two big clubs in Solar and FCD have caught up as well.
