In PISD Monday night is the 7th grade american football night and Tuesday in the 8th grade night. Is that not the case in other districts?

Most districts are that way. Classic will tell you they can't schedule around everyone's school breaks or holidays or heaven forbid FOOTBALL!!! Been there done that. Ask your bb which one he wants to play....may surprise you!

Frisco is also on Moday night. Turfburn, you'll have to wait till next year to stir up that controversy.

No controversy just thought some ISD's like Arlington played 7th grade on tues. Oh well, my mistake.

7th grade football in Allen is Tuesdays, impacts two D1 teams I'm aware of.

This happened to us last year - half our team had church and football conflicts. The game was a difference maker for Dallas Cup - so I begged for a re-reschedule to no avail. So....everyone made the soccer game...we won and learned the lesson of not paying for the reschedule request. Actually, they told us to not attempt it as you are told upfront school and church are not valid excuses for a reschedule (apparently only a mass leprosy outbreak). If they don't reschedule due to swine flu vacancies last year - what are the chances for any other reason?

Shouldn't the priority be school sports? Don't the kids get a grade for school sports? Classic wields to much power if parents and kids miss a school sport over a soccer game. Parents of Classic league unite-get with the other teams and have no one show up-that will send a message-after all, this is America.

What annoys me even more are the two games scheduled during the Spring break weekends. Is it really necessary to play both weekends? We played one weekend with only 10 kids because everyone went skiing.

Games have been rescheduled for Sunday October 10. No conflicts with Middle School/Junior High football.

Wow! I am sure this took a lot more work to pull off but it definitely keeps a lot of kids on the school field and the club field without having to pick one over the other.

Even though Club probably should be the priority given the dollars that we spend, the school sports are important to many of us due to the social aspect.

I don't want to force my son to choose a sport until he is able to figure out which sport provides him the greatest chance of participating at the Varsity level. He's an 8th grader now and I'm hoping he can make that choice in 10th grade but it is a tightrope to dance on.

I agree Mr Clean. I am in the same boat with my 8th grader.

Based on what I saw from my bb teams performance Tuesday night it might not matter what night middle school football is. With more than 60% of the boys playing middle school football and having had a game the previous night they all looked like they were playing in quicksand. Very lack luster performance. I've heard about the middle school football affect but I got to see it first hand. I for one will take the Sunday make up game. Are there any teams this young that limit participation in MS football?

I wonder where people get the idea that soccer in NTX is only for the elite.
