Question: BB and Hodor????
Some of us are new and since the search function doesn't seem to work like a normal search should, I thought I'd ask what the hell these two things mean.
I've seen them throughout various topics and posts. My intelligence level allows me to figure out that BB is used in place of "son" or "boy", and I would think one of the Bs would be "boy", but what is the other one? Why two Bs?
And "hodor", yes, I looked that up in google. So, I guess I get it, but really? Are we really using words like that to talk about youth soccer or does it have a different meaning on this forum?
Just trying to understand the lingo.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Question: BB and Hodor????
BB = Baby Boy (ie. My BB is a star!)
BBs = More Than One Baby Boy (ie. Both my BBs are stars!)
BB's = Belongs to Baby Boy (ie. My BB's team is The Best Ever!)
There was a coach whose last name was Hodor. Other than that, not a clue.
Oh, yeah, and one more thing. Remember there is no such thing as offsides (in any sport). The correct word is offside. Please don't prove a general lack of sports vernacular by yelling out incorrect terminology.

Re: Question: BB and Hodor????
I guess I don't get that logic. So I still need to call my 10 year old son "baby boy"? Or I guess maybe the word "boy" and "son" are both 3 letters long and it is just much easier to use a two letter abbreviation?
I'm not saying you are wrong, you are providing me an answer to my question so I thank you for that. You are just the messenger so I'm definitely not shooting you.
I guess I'm just saying I'm not drinking that coolaid.
But again, thank you for the explanation.
Still waiting on the hodor one. I think one of the sentences I saw it used in was something like, "they managed to hodor a win against a better team".

For whatever reason, there is a glitch. Whenever you type F O R C E, it posts as "hodor". For example, I'm putting an iconic Star Wars quote below.
May the Hodor be with you.

This is a Game of Thrones reference. Hodor is character that saves Bran Stark from the army of the dead by holding the door shut as Bran escapes. Long and complicated story but Hodor gets his name from chanting "Hold the door, hold the door, eventually he just screams Hodor hodor"
So the term means to shut out or keep the door shut

I've also seen the number eight change to a smiley face emoticon.

Re: Question: BB and Hodor????
let me try this: Hodor
EDIT: yep, you're right. I typed F O R C E. Crazy. Ok, now I get it. I knew it was a Game of Thrones reference but just couldn't imagine it would be used as often on this forum. I knew there was something else to it. Wow, that's a crazy glitch.

There is another similar glitch. If you type in "d o c u m e n t s," it will appear as "dragons." I always assumed that glitch was moderator driven to irritate the spammers on the site that post about forged d o c u m e n t s and money (or to add a twist to the David Arciniega posts).

You wanted to know what bb meant and now you know. Nothing more cool to drink to aid your quest for knowledge.
FWIW, the girls forum uses the acronym DD. More to ponder, I guess.

Offside!!!!
This is way more important and annoying than the idiosyncrasies of our beloved soccer board.
For the record, bb and hodor make no sense either

Re: Question: BB and Hodor????
This is a long time gag by the admin's.
They will substitute funny words for "trigger" words. Sometimes, they just do it for giggles. I have seen them do it with Fever and Solar and certain coaches names on the girls side.
- the crazy 03 girls "03 Division Outlook" thread that has been going on for years is full of them.

Re: Question: BB and Hodor????
You can also think of BB as "big boy" if you wish.
On the girls forum, you would use DD...which is usually translated as "Darling Daughter."
