D1-FCD pull off tie vs DTS and Comets beat barca are surprises. Gunners are 0-6, heading to D2
D2-CCO with first win over Tyler Azzuri, wonder what is going on with Tyler. DTX Red are looking great with 5 wins in a row. Face hard test vs ASG next week. ASG also looking good with 3 shutout wins in a row. Can their defence hold against DTX Red? We will see.

Should be pretty obvious to anyone who has watched our losses, particularly the last one. Of course, I'm a little biased but I believe we had possession for at least 75% of the game with CC but couldn't find the net. CC did twice on pretty much their only shots of the game after a couple of defensive mistakes. I'm not sure what's going on but it better get fixed in a hurry. I know most everyone on here is all "wins don't matter--development is where it's at" but losing sucks and the boys don't like it. I just don't want them to lose their passion for the game because of some ridiculous scoring slump. Also, it doesn't help when the 'big boys' lure a solid defender away with promises that never materialize and he ends up sitting the bench there and quits altogether. We could have really used that kid. I guess if they can't beat us, they'll just gut our team. God love the American way. The Yankees have bought championships for years, I just didn't know it was so pervasive in youth soccer.
your boys will be ok maybe just a tad bit of rebuilding? Cool

cRAZY ET- It's not the big boys that lured your top defender away. It was the parents of the defender that fell for it hook, line and sinker. 10-1 the kid did not want to leave but the parents couldn't help themselves. same old story!

I didn't say he was our top defender but very solid. He locked that left side down tight. Played 100% of every game last year. I'm not sure what they told his parents to get him there but it must have been good to get them to go from less than $1000 a year to more than $3000. I feel really bad for the kid because now he's not playing anywhere, not even rec.

That does suck for both parties. It just tells parents to be careful to coaches promises. They have you for one year, you pay $3000 and there are no sure things.

So why not have him brought back? I'm sure he wants to play. However, doesn't he play for Solar Red as their sweeper?

Will they not release him back to your team crazyET? At least for the Spring. I know that some coaches and clubs are so competitive that they won't but I think it is ridiculous to think like that with 12 year olds. At least maybe you guys can talk to the family and get him back involved next year. Seems like such a waste.

This should be a warning to all others looking to make the move to a "big" club. This is some evidence, and yes I am generalizing here from an isolated incident, that these big clubs are not interested in developing players but instead finding a way to win--even when that only involves removing a good player from another roster and moving hat player to their bench.

There are some disadvantages to playing with a smaller club and staying close to home. However, there are some advantages to doing so as well. Everyone should consider all of these factors when making club decisions.

We can certainly try but not holding out any hope since DTR is in the same division as us. Why would they let a good player go back to a team they have to face again in the spring?

I guess I was thinking, naively so, that they would do it just because it's the right thing to do. But, you are probably right--very little chance of that happening. For the kid's sake, I hope that y'all are able to work with his family and get him back in the game. Good luck.
