that DTRS team won't be the same exact team but yea the main core and yea i remember what you said awhile back which should make a good battle!nuchad wrote:omega striker wrote:it won't be the exact same team by then!nuchad wrote:wareagle wrote:I think FWU 99B Gold is a very talented team playing in the APL....Kronos wrote:Who is Fort Worth United 99 Gold? Can't wait to see the D3 South Hernandez team and FWU match up in the challenge tourney next summer. If you know the history of the teams, there's a lot of "good blood/bad blood" all at the same time. Unfortunate on how all that worked out, but interesting to say the least.
also where is the "bad blood" from? those two teams have never played each other?
bad blood in a "good sport" sense... about 5/6 of the FWU team were teammates of 5/6 of the old DT Tarrant team that disbanned last summer. The teams will end up knowing each other fairly well.

What a Cluster!!!
Not only did the HUFC 00s not support their own tournament but neither did the HUFC 95 boys. After doing some checking I found out that the president of the association (Paul Tanaka) as well as the Executive director of the club (Jeff Dane) both attended the Xara tournament and left their association and club “swinging in the breeze” First year for the tournament director and had it not been for the fact that outside people and associations stepped up at the last minute to help things would have been much worse.

My vote for scam of the year goes to the HUSA Turkey Shoot Classic, sounds like the 00's and 95 teams got insider information of just what a f-up of a tourney it was gonna be and bailed. I bet the HUSA board members are all in some tropical destination for Thanksgiving, just laughing at all the suckers, counting all their $.

It will be a good game and should be a physical battle but we will have to wait and see if FWU makes it to the tournament; they have their hands full with the Texas Lighning breathing down their necks and the Aztecas don't seem to be going anywhere in the APL. Who are and where did the Aztecas come from???

Doesn't look like they will match up after all. TXL 99B Gold (FWU) will have to make it to D3 for you to get your wish.nuchad wrote:wareagle wrote:I think FWU 99B Gold is a very talented team playing in the APL....Kronos wrote:Who is Fort Worth United 99 Gold? Glasa, quoting that and bumping it up is shady as hell. you should worry about your own tournament and not passively bash another.
it makes me second guess recommending your tournament as the tournament coordinator of my son's team.

Never been this tourney. can't imagine it will be good if they couldn't even bring up their website. If you looking for some challenging games, go to Texans fall festival.

As current President of HUSA (Feb 2011) and the Tournament Director of this year’s Turkey Shoot, let me clarify some things first hand. The posts on here about scheduling fiascos last year are absolutely true. However, the reasons listed for the scheduling issues are not true.
H50 (and all the other user names he creates) needs to learn something about IP addresses before his entire family gets removed from the Hurst fields. Half-truths are the same as lies.
And lovescr01? What are you talking about? HUSA’s website works just fine. Or are you, too, trying to inaccurately get one in at someone else’s expense? http://www.hurstunitedsoccer.org.
If any of you are genuinely considering entering this year and want to discuss your concerns, feel free to message me. I’ll send you my number and we can talk about it openly. I am more than aware of what we’re up against but I can assure you that all of last year’s issues have been resolved. Permanently.
What I won’t do is bash other people or hijack another thread to promote my agenda. If you choose to play with us, it’s going to be a great tournament at a great price and you won’t regret it. The HUSA Turkey Shoot is returning with all its former glory. I am genuinely looking forward to it. Teams have already begun to register and it’s going to be a great weekend. Thank you to those of you who have already registered. I appreciate your encouraging words and messages.
If you don’t return this year, I understand. Best wishes at whichever tournament you choose.

Don't have a dog in this race, but I've got to say that Wep's post is a heckuva lot classier than GLASA bumping this old thread to the top.

Re: HUSA Turkey Shoot Classic XVII
I have to agree, bumping up this old thread is about the most classless thing I've seen done on here. The Hurst president has already acknowledged all the problems from the past two years and pledged to fix it. Can't say the Hurst tournament will fit in our schedule but I can assure you I would have nothing to do with GLASA if the people running it are that low class !! I'm always amazed at the depth people will sink too and then turn around and claim their doing it for the kids!!! Sounds like Hurst has a president with some class and that should be a giant step towards fixing their problems![list][*]

Funny how Glasa does not have the testicular fortitude to come back in here and defend his actions. I will note that the Hurst president has admitted their mistakes and plan on fixing it. our coach has not decided which tourney his academy teams will play in. i know where his club teams are playing so it will be on a different weekend than those.

I apologize for the action of an over-zealous member of GLASA. I explained to them how taking a shot at another tournament was not appropriate. Their postings on this forum are limited to the professional promotion of GLASA events. I have received the password to that id and will monitor their postings and PM's.

Thank you to those of you who showed your support yesterday by registering your teams. Yesterday was our highest registration day to date. We have (at your request) made it an option to register your team online and send in your money via snail mail. All registrations and payments are due by November 4th. Our boys brackets are filling up quite nicely but we are in need of some girls teams.
Please contact me at director@husaturkeyshoot.com if you have any questions.
