    Post  soccermom040 on Tue Oct 19, 2010 9:43 am

Any surprises after your first swim thru league play? Who is the best team you've played?
Suprised by FCD; thought they would finish top 2.

    1: SOLAR 27
    2: ANDRO RED 22
    3: FCD PREMIER 19
    4: DTR 17
    5: TEJANOS 16
    6: DTRS 10
    7: TFC 9
    8: SOLAR RED 4
    9: TITANS 4
    10: ANDRO 2

ODY is the surprise here. TOR is where I thought they would be. 3 - 6 will change week to week b/c those teams are pretty much the same.

    1: ODY 23
    2: DFW TOR 17
    3: DTRW 15
    4: COMETS 15
    5: FCD 13
    6: CCW 12
    7: DTW 9
    8: ICF 7
    9: HORNS 7
    10: STRIKERS 4

D1 surprise-Solar Red being in jeopardy of being relegated-Tejanos have shown good improvement

D2 surprise-Ody only team that has won more than 50% of their games. Horns must have lost some key players. Strikers at the bottom a bit of a surprise. Tornados a bit of a disappointment-no losses but to many ties!

D1- Tejanos better than expected, guess the word during the summer about Solar Red was true.
D2- Ody doing well as expected,Longhorns not the same team at all, Tornados go 1 win 4 ties w/ 4 total goals in first 5 games.Changes the lineup and goes 3 wins w/ 1 tie w/ 8 goals in last four games.

No big surprises in D1. We cant be surprised that Solar is again at the top--best I can tell same starting core for third year in a row. Continuity counts. Andromeda deserves kuddos for doing as well as it as--some nice off season pick ups. FCD/DTR both examples of what happens with new coaches and significant player turnover. Both might surprise people as they gell in the Spring. Tejanos one step below the big 4 as expected--the best of the rest. As to the other five, pretty much interchangeable.

Sadly, it all changes next year when the core of the big four all go to Academy.

D1: Not fortunate enough to have been able to watch many games.

D2: Not surprised by where ODY sits in the standings. They put in the work during the off season to get them where they are. I am surprised about the stat posted by soccerdad1, that there is only 1 team with a winning percentage above 50%.

Biggest surprise in my opinion is the North Texas Striker team. This team is MUCH better than their record shows. They have scored more goals than every team with the exception of ODY. Their defense is the obvious weak point but it is only at certain times. They will play great for a while and then give up a wide open goal.
