So I went to the rules...and yes, it appears you are right. And Holy Sh_t...how did we let the Texans hijack the Dallas Cup?!?!?!?
Proper name for the tournament now should rightly be..."The Dallas Texans Cup"
Check out the U17 and U19 brackets...Of the 6 teams to get invites, it will be 3 Texans teams (Academy and top 2 Classic 1 teams) and the other 3 academy teams.
So, if your bb isn't on a texans team or academy team at U17...just go ahead and buy him a ticket to be a spectator.

You are not far from the truth! Atleast when the longhorns were the host, they had to be in D-1 and only one slot.
The DC teams, especially the DT teams that barely squeeze in are going to get KILLED at DC.

Not necessarily true. Look at the 95 U-16 Age Group. No Texans team this year.

Only because their top team in D1 is in 8th place - one place higher and they would have been in.
