    Liverpool 1 / Bachman Lake 0

Good game, BL moves the ball well, tries to break you down. LP works the set play very well, Scored on a header off a corner.

game was pretty intense, but not good.

CDI were very physical from the beginning, but when xTreme scored in the second half,
CDI play turned ugly, including pushing, elbowing and spitting
on the back of xTreme player when ref was not watching.
Couple of times it was "this close" to real fight.

I have admit that xTreme was pretty lucky to win this game,
as CDI players were fast and strong, but couple of players on
their team are really nasty kids.

Luck had nothing to to do with winning the game CDI was just out played and could not get ball into net.

As for being a "UGLY" that is a understatement! I can understand being physical and playing hard but when it turns to SPITTING on players (yes more than one) and the same CDI player punching Xtreme players in the back, kicking their feet out from under them and also hitting and elbowing players when on the ground. That is uncalled for and the ref should of kicked the boy out of game. He was also mouthing back to the ref and would laugh at him when he said something to him. I will put up with a lot from the refs and not doing anything about ruff play, but when someone starts spitting on people and punching players in the back and not one of the refs do a thing about it that is when I am going to say something. All of our parents were upset and complaining to ref about the boy and finely when he spit on one of the Xtreme players the mom said something to the player from CDI and he told her to shut up. Then the ref got on to all of our parents for saying something to the player and when it was pointed out to the ref about the spitting for the second or third time the ref, he said he did not want to here it......... SO WHAT DO YOU DO???

I fill like CDI was doing anything they could to get a red card pulled on a Xtreme player because they knew that they could not beat Xtreme one on one but if Xtreme was short a man or two they would have a chance to win. Their coach was also a class act yelling across the field to one of his players that got a yellow card for trying to break a Xtreme plays leg "Tell those parents to shut up" now that is sitting a good example for your players.

Well said. Without the spitting, hitting, and other inappropriate behaviors that Xtreme payers were forced to endure, this game would have been easily 5-0.

I think Xtreme or Texhoma wins Plano D-2 hands down and most likely beats most of the teams if not all in Plano D-1. Just the luck of the draw during the quailing tournament.

Just curious. How can you state that those teams could beat all of the Plano D-1 teams and then say they didn't get into D1 due to luck of the draw? If they were better than the D-1 teams would they not have beaten them during the QT? Just trying to figure out this logic.

as for them beating most teams in plano 1 . i think they would be a middle of the table team. i believe coppell was in their QT group and they are not having an easy time in plano 1.

Woodwork you need to go look at results from qualifying Texhoma beat Coppell and Xtreme beat Texhoma the way Coppell got in was on points. Bracket 4 was by far the toughest bracket during qualifying. I have watched most all of the Plano D-1 teams play and I fill that either Texhoma or Xtreme can hang with or beat most of the teams in D-1.

This is just my feelings on what I have seen during games but as you know anything can happen on any given day and I am sure you will disagree because your son is in D-1? The fair thing for Plano to do is to let 1st and 2ed in D-1 play 1st and 2ed from D-2 and then send the top two teams to challenge for classic. Plano had a clear agenda this year by splitting the groups the way that they did this year and before you ask I will explain what I was told from a person from PYSA. Their were some teams that had been with Plano for quite a few years and they wanted them to advance to Classic League so that is why we were split up the way we were split. Sure someone will say that’s not it but I fill like the person that talked with me and gave me the info was telling me the truth but who knows.....

All in All I just fill like two of the best teams in the U-15 age group are not in the division they need to be in. That could change after this coming weekend when Xtreme plays Tornados Blue. This should be a very good game and bragging rights for the boys due to the fact that most of them are in Keller schools and see each other at school every day.

I love those match ups between school friends. I suggest you let the referee's know that before the game as a precaution (not that it would make any difference according to earlier posts concerning referee's at Plano).

Plano splits up their divisions per the "Odyssey" rule and does not allow the teams that finish in the top 2 in division 2 to move up during the year. The "Odyssey" rule was put into place when Odyssey 96 started in Plano D2, went undefeated and advanced to Plano D1 for the Spring, then went undefeated and was not allowed to challenge for Classic. The logic was the team was not on Plano D1 for the entire year.

I think maybe Hammer's Dad might be referring to the fact that there are 16 teams in D2, while only 9 in D1? Seems odd.

True that. But the number of teams in D1 & D2 are usually more even than this year. I just don't understand the logic of 9 & 15.

While I give lots of props to Odyssey 96...they were not the ones that started this practice by Plano. Rule has been in place for years...there just were some years where Plano didn't split up Plano into multiple divisions. Rule was based on Plano 1 points earned per season, Fall and Spring earned seperate points...Plano 2 points didn't count.

    Unfortunately,
Plano 2 has nothing to play for, except development and pride.
I might stir something up here, but it is my opinion....
It's easier to stay in D-3 Classic than it is to get there.
Take top 5 PPL, APL and bottom 5 D-3 and see what happens.
We like conversation pieces here anyways......

i believe the top teams in plano and arlington would do very well in classic league. the teams that got promoted last year were inter, highland plains, and select. if my memory serves me correctly , inter is first, highland plains are second, and select is sitting comfortably mid table.

Both Odyssey and Inner City (formely FWFC) finished 3rd and 4th in D3 their 1st year and advance to D2 their second year. It is harder to get into Classic than to drop out. If the league had a open tournament for D3 every year for the last 5 spots I think you would see better competion instead of the same teams year after year.

Over the years I have heard parents say that many times and its always been from leagues such as Plano and Arlington. Your team is where your team is for a reason, be it D-1,D-2,D-3 or the other leagues.

Now that the academy leagues are in play, IMHO, the Classic league needs to cut back to where it used to be. D-1 and D-2 only. Everyone else plays in the other leagues....but it won't happen cause of MONEY!

Agree about Tornados. We have not played them yet, but saw them playing for few minutes.
xTreme will need quite a bit of luck to beat the blue...

The same bit of luck that let Coppell Strikers beat us in QT and go to D1 Smile

    Wish us good luck Smile

Back to where is use to be was 10 teams per age group. Back then, D2 was seen as a glorified PPL/APL league, just like D3 is seen as now. It's a vicious cycle!
I agree with the majority of people... PPL, APL, and D3 teams are fairly equal. You see it play out during tourney time.
