You and whatever parent has exactly the amount of influence in direct correlation to how talented your kid is at the great game. If you hear anything else it's a lie.

I've been told that extra $ influences...that's not skill, that's purchasing playtime. Not certain if the coach needs the money or is so impressed with it that it influences, but it definitely is not only skill.

it's a business bro and thats the main problem here which nobody(especially the clubs) want to be discussed anywhere especially on this site! we the parents are the "consumer" but the problem is very few are looking to what can improve our children in this beautiful game but more like "oh my kid plays on the top D1 team or the#2 or #3 team" etc.... the talk about oh this coach is great this or that and then bam the following year(rumoring how bad the last coach was) their with another team ranting about the next coach! this is nothing new just NTX soccer hell probably US soccer?from my own personal experience I like to give every coach my BB has had a chance and fortunatly he has had all really good ones and he has learned from each and every one of them some more then others his main issues is he is a tank built turtle lol!!!! now this is something he obviously has to work on to improve on as a player to move on to the next level of his NTX soccer career but we know where we stand and I would NEVER...pay anymore then I have to,play the politics, make package deals and most of kiss ass! I'm at a breaking point with all this crap and about to let it all go my money can be used best elsewhere in my household! tongue

Omega- you sound bitter. Maybe you read to much into all the crap. It's like that in any other sport your kid might play unless he goes to an individual sport like tennis or golf. I would just say let your kid play somewhere where he feels comfortable and don't get caught up in all the b.s which is everywhere in every team sport. 95% of the kids will make their way in due time based on their ability. Also, most will find the skill over time and a coach that fits them. Also, kissing ass and package deals will not help anyones son/daughter when they get on the pitch. They still have to play and produce. Nine times out of ten people that complain are the ones that are having their kid play at a level they can't handle.

You are correct Club, those package deals, ass kissing, and extra money doesnt make the kids better on the pitch. Thats the frustration! Those kids get Play time no matter how badly they play. My bb earns his time, and does get it, but when the other players lose the ball, those extra influences hurt all the kids on the team especially when the quiet bench warmer is tons better than the rich kid.

If you don't like the situation you are in you either need to get out of it and find greener pastures, or you need to come to the realization that your bb is perhaps not as good as "you" think he is or will be. Stop whining like little girls and do something about it or try something different. Just make sure there is a forum for whatever else you try, cause I'm sure it will be the same there.
