Anyone have an idea which tournaments they are playing next month?

Ayses Texas Winter Classic Jan 21-23
FCD Michael Brown Winter Classic Jan 29-30
XARA Winter Cup Jan 27-30

Careful with the Winter tournaments-lots of bad weather during that time. Check what their refund policy is before entering.

soccerdad1 and I are establishing a MO with our posts regarding these tournaments, he warns everyone of the potential for bad weather and I warn everyone that they are going to take at least 1/2 of your money. Both things that everyone should consider before paying the entry fees. My guess is that one of the weekends in January will end up having the tournament cancelled due to weather. It is inevitable. Get out your 2011 Farmer's Almanac, throw some chicken bones on the ground or call you favorite psychic hotline and choose your tournament weekend carefully. Good luck to us all!

With regard to the entry fees, almost every tounament will keep 50% of your entry fee, even if NO games are played. Most keep 100% if the tournament starts and is later cancelled. This includes getting in a couple of Friday night games and even if your team isn't scheduled to start play until Saturday. Some will offer you a discounted fee for a future tournament. They are all this way and you are just going to have to take your chances with the weather. Not a lot you can do to avoid it.

Definitely understand the risk of the winter tournament. That's why I am trying to find out where most of the competition will be. We only want to sign up for one of them.

And I know, just because everyone picks the same one doesn't mean there will be good weather.

So lots of views but not a lot of predictions so far. Though I don't normally wade into the pool (Being a novice and all) I am going to predict Liverpool in Ayses over ASG. For Xara I am going to go with TFC over NTX Strikers though Chivas could easily put their mark on the tournament.

Still interested to know who will be in the FCD tournament if anyone can share.

Interesting format also. They will all only play 3 games, including semis & finals.

Basically if you win your first game you go on to the semis and if you win your semi you go on the final. Any loss and it throws you into a consolation game.

DT Gall 00, Solar SC 00, FCD East 00 & TFC 00 will be there. They also set it up so that all the NTX teams play STX teams in the first game.

FCD East vs. Houstonians in the first game will be a good one!

Pretty interesting results as the first four places in the tournament will be the four from Dallas. DT Gall and Solar in the Championship, TFC and FCD East playing for 3rd.

Heard some of the Bandits were in Houston also?

Don't forget Solar & TFC - both bigger than Andro in terms of select teams. And two of the Bandit kids played for Solar this weekend in Houston.
