I agree there, always seemed to me that FCD East is better. First they are stronger/faster and I think they have played together longer which always helps. Good coaching too. This is going to be a fun game. Now Bandits against Texans Gall definitely tops it. No way we will see that many goals though, both defenses are too tough and team way to well organized. I would say it ends on a 1-0 or 1-1. This sure could have been a long lasting healthy rivalry; now is it really going to last ? Will we see the Bandits next year ?

Good question. Several Bandits kids have been seen at skill/practice sessions of the Texans, Andromeda & Solar. It would be sad to see if a top D1 team disbands, especially an independent one. Good luck this weekend.

I am not sure. Usually it's the parents going nuts. Last year in the 97's group Solar White got promoted from D2 to D1, played all season hard to earn the spot with the final result that the team disbanded and the spot was given to Solar Gold coming from Plano.

My "guess" (if this is true - I don't know since I'm not an insider in any way) is that the parents of the kids on the Bandits team look at their kids as some of the best talent in the area for their age (which they are). They probably think that being on an independent team keeps their kids from getting the exposure being on a bigger club would bring. Exposure to bigger tournaments (like national tournaments, etc), and exposure to recruiters from colleges.

This may or may not be true. Remember, at the beginning of the year, they had just lost a couple "key" players to competitors, and looked like they were on the downhill slide. They turned it around during the year nicely (I think). If they continue to be a top team, and improve like they have over this season, they could get plenty of exposure in the future(its a good story, independent team produces top talent - they might even get a news article or two that they wouldn't get on a big club team - but that's not guaranteed) and they can travel / qualify for big tournaments, etc, even on an independent team. It might be naive in my thinking, but I think that if they qualify for and play in big tournaments and do well, they will get colleges to look at their boys.

People that think that u11 kids play for college recruiters are crazy ! Same for u12 u13 and U14. I don't know for a fact but I doubt any college scout cares below U15...

The Bandits parents, and the coach, are some of the most solid people I have met since joining the Academy/ Select carousel just a few years ago. We lost arguably our best soccer player. Coach brought in new ones, including my son, and they have struggled here and there, but with a few games to go, the boys are playing like we knew they could, and have a slim but possible chance at winning the league. How many other teams can say that right now?

I can guarantee you that multiple teams in "D1" will disband after classic. But, damn, let's just finish the season, and then you guys can speculate all you want to about team and player movement. There's a lot of good soccer left to play.

It would be disappointing to see them disband, but we are focused on the here and the now. Out of respect for the players, parents, and coaches, if you want to know what is happening with the team, ask the coach.

Well, this is a message board so if we are here on that board, it is to post, talk, read and chat. Seems to me that when we chat about soccer in the US one of the most interesting discussion is about clubs (the big money makers) and independent teams. In our 00 division we have an awesome example of a super good independent team that despites being top 3 in the area gives big warning signs to be ready to give up in order for the kids to go play with clubs. So yes we are talking about your team but this is not personal. I personally think it is interesting, now if the discussion (which basically comes down to :What do parents get when they pay $3K a year to a club) doesn't pick up we will let it die and move on...

it's the window stickers and tsirts. The bandits need team apparel and window stickers if they plan to stay competative.

Love the arrogance soccertime. Ask him when you see him. The reality check here is obvious, it is hard to keep an independent together everyone on this thing knows that some first hand. Its about creating options if you need them. What is really funny soccertime is be careful, if a group of the Bandits boys do show up on your team your bb might be looking for a new team. They have some really good players!!

I called my son and told him that he had to quit soccer because some of the Bandits are looking for new home, he reminded me that he is a 99, wow we dodged a bullet.

Why is it Goalz that you get so bent out of shape when someone talks about what is happening with your team? The information is true, why are you upset?

All of this is just my opinion but, when the coach of the team is "creating options" it is not a good sign of things to come. Question

jimulon6, it seems to me it would be hard to focus on all the good soccer ahead when this is going on with the team IMO

Actually, its never been better. I wouldn't have believed it either, but the proof's in their play, at least so far, they have a big game this weekend. They haven't played any better all year than in their last 3 games.

My comment about waiting to broach this subject was for those outside our team. Surely you jackals can wait a month or so to continue your rumor mil. Or are your lives so vacuous that is all you have to do?

Oh so you are a 99 Texan parent, makes sense now, I have heard from several folks that particular team is on the verge of total breakdown because of nonsense. Maybe you should address it with the coach or have you seen him this month? Thanks for the opinion it will really serve all independents well going forward, so it was be careful not to let this stuff become a distraction, did I get that right?

I'm glad your team is doing well, I just don't understand why people get so upset when people talk about something that they have witnessed. Everyone should know by now that you can't keep a secret in the soccer world.

    Gall 5 – 0 FWFC
    TFC Wells 4 – 1 Odyssey
    Solar Partain 2 – 0 Strikers
    Andro Red 2 – 0 Liverpool
    DT Red 3 – 0 Tejanos

    I agree with German except--

Wiz might give Premier more trouble than anyone thinks, they are due for a good game.

Wiz andro Red- 2-2 tie(sorry German!)

Solar Red wins, Partain not in good place right now

East beats Premier by a goal

I would love to pick the Bandits over Gall, but they(Gall) are very good. It would be an emotional pick anyway...I say 1-1 or 0-0 tie.

Texans Red may be starting to rival big brother--a little.

Maybe you should address it with the coach or have you seen him this month? Thanks for the opinion it will really serve all independents well going forward, so it was be careful not to let this stuff become a distraction, did I get that right?

I can see you are suffering from "Independent Syndrome". Independent Syndrome is when you think everyone is against you and your cause. You think big clubs are the enemy. Everytime someone says something about your club you are the little guy getting picked on, yada yada yada. It happens in every age group, Independent going to make it against all odds against the Evil Big Club.

I have a question, If "Independent land" is so good and you know so much about our situation, why are your players showing up to train with a team that the coach is MIA?

Contracts go until the end of June, however the moment you get a practice release and a tournament release you can play. In the month of June you can practice with anybody but NTSSA can sign the release for tournaments in case current coach is an a$$.
