    Please just pay the coaches

Post  Andro Coach on Wed Feb 23, 2011 9:52 am

5 months with no pay to the coaches? I hear some parents are even paying the coaches directly.

It's not that easy. Summer comes and so is the 75% rule.

if they are a top coach, just leave. They will be able to find a club that will pay them. Some already have. Same as everyone else, if you have a marketable skill and you feel you are not being compenasated for it then just take that skill to someone who will pay you. If on the other hand you are surviving off the labor of young children then you may need to convince 75% of your young laborers to go with you to make you more attractive.

yea for sure....I have always worried about paying up front for such a small discount for doing so. You sure realize this is a business once you get into it....

Fact 1 some coaches are not being paid
fact 2 some have chose to go elsewhere
fact 3 You thought you paid the coach, but you pay the club
Personally I think andro will be fine just working thru the kinks of having people who don't know what the hell they are doing. But come on guys, if you lose the coaches you are done as a club and no soccer complex will change that.

Those parents will get there year of coaching. It may not be the coach they anticipated but I am sure andro will get them someone. Maybe the coaches can write it off their taxes as volunteer work Laughing

Wow so the special one isn't being paid either? I had heard that "some" coaches weren't being paid, not "all". Things must be worse off than I thought. How long can they go without paying coaches and what coach worth his coaching license will hang around after that?

    That looks pretty official...
So does anyone want to comment:
    -Why this is happening?
-What has the club done with all of the $$ the parents have shelled out?
-What are the club's plans going forward to keep their fields and start paying coaches?

I know that Andro own some of the vacant land that surrounds the club. I'm not sure 100% sure, but it seems that Andro is forclosing on the vacant land and not their training facility. There is no mention of buildings or structures in the doc...

If someone owes you 5 months of service, that's why you stay - not why you leave. Too many variables if you leave - can't really take your team easily (timing of season, possibly lose money if you leave - assuming you have no contract, need 100% agreement to leave before end of Spring season).

I believe most (probably not all) coaches want everything to work out - and it appears to be headed in that direction (but...who really knows?).

The trick will be keeping it together after this year, IMO. I think the facility is what is keeping the coaches/club together - I don't think it's easy to run a club without one, but, good coaches will always eventually get a team together.

Regarding the foreclosure, that's been a monthly filing for quite a few months now - they just haven't acted on it, whomever 'they' is - Clintonism.

With this and the Solar situation, it's been pretty interesting to say the least and I'd assume has great potential to change the landscape of NTX soccer. I do wonder if there will only be FCD in a decade (if rumors of Texans trying to sell to them is true - that was an older rumor, so I don't know where that went).

Quite honestly, I don't see the humor in that. And what do you mean by "ours", last I remember you were with the Comets prior to switching over to the Texans. Regardless, it happens all the time in the real world and money may not have been the only motivation for his departure.

In a nutshell, Andromeda has gotten themselves in a hole and is obviously a poorly run business. The only way out is if the infamous investor comes thru with the promised monies. If that doesn't happen this week as is supposed to, all hell will break loose.

I guess I can see HN, KS, CH, EP & CP in McKinney next week. Maybe I can get a group picture before and after the auction.

The foreclosure notice doesn't have to specifically mention any buildings or structures as they are "fixtures" which become part of the real property. Sorry to burst your bubble but if your bank forecloses on your land, you also lose your house that sits on the land. Besides, the foreclosure notice does specifically mention the buildings by inclusion of the phrase "including all improvements and fixtures. . ." Also, it seems by Axx's response that the ATF is very much part of the foreclosure. Why else would "all hell break loose" if they were only losing vacant land surrounding the club. By the way, Andro isn't "forclosing" (sic) on anything. Its creditors (the holders of the note and Deed of Trust) are. According to the Exhibit attached to the Notice, the entire 35 plus acres is being foreclosed "save and except" two tracts totaling approximately 15 acres. Whether the 20 plus acres subject to foreclosure includes the ATF, only someone from Andromeda can answer, or the attorneys who drafted the legal descriptions and are familiar with exactly what the metes and bounds descriptions of those two 7 plus acre "save and except" tracts describe.

Wow...I did not know that there is a lawyer amongst us. Thanks for the breaking the notice down for a layman. Hopefully, the funding will come thru.

Clueless, when the coaches weren't paid for long periods of time last year, they should have read the writing on the wall.

Because they owe you 5 months of backpay isn't why you stay, it's why you put a lien against the corporation yourself?

Where are the 501(c)3 documents filed that show where Andro has spent the money?
