    Bandits - Next Season

Post  soccerpapa on Mon Mar 14, 2011 4:14 pm

I keep hearing from different people that the Bandits will not be back next season and that a bunch of their players have been practicing with other teams. Would someone who knows put this rumor to rest? It would be a shame that one of the tops teams in D1 does not return, but it would have implications on some of the top teams getting stronger and also would affect D1/D2 borderline times.

more than likely a rumor! theres NO way any of those Bandits players are practicing elsewhere cause' that would be a violation on the contract and of the ntx rulebook! Suspect

You can always get a release from the coach to join other practices. I'm sure if they are, JW has given them the release to practice.

Saw 2 Bandits playing with another D1 team in tournament 2 weeks back....was told they were finished after State Cup was over.

Sorry to hear that. They were a strong team that represented independents very well.

Can any Bandits' parents chime in with what happened? Lose your coach? Lose a bunch of players to big clubs? Just too much pressure from what has become the giant soccer machine in NTX?

Such a great independent. I, like soccerxxx, hate to see them go. Hope the boys all find a club and a team that they enjoy! Good luck to each of you.

Tough deal all the way around for the team. Your on the right track with your guesses except for loss of coach.

What if ? The top 5 bandits players go to FC Dallas either premier or east or TFC will give the Texans a run for first next season or if they go to Texans will dominate the league .

The Bandits defense is a strength. Adding their two awesome central defenders to a strong club would instantly pay dividends. Team up their defenders with an existing big club that already has a creative midfield and a dangerous offense would be potent.

Yes, I'm stating the obvious. Wink

The question is… which big club can best benefit because the current defense can use a lift?

Has anyone heard yet whether the Bandits slot was taken by another club as a merger or if the slot has been dropped? Either way I would be interested to see how the positions fall for league play next season.

There won't be an official decision until mid July until the board meets after the Bye paperwork deadline. That is when they could officially move the Toros up to D1 if the Bandits are no longer around.

A majority of the Bandits have been working out with Andro Red, DT Gall, TFC Wells, FCD East, FCD Premier, FCD Suerez, ASG and Wizzards. So that tells me they are parting ways...or a majority of them.

I hear that the coach is still trying to take his son and a few boys to a big club as a "merger" and retain the Bye. However, the word I got directly from a CL board member was that they would need to retain 75% of their original roster to keep the D1 Bye. An independent team moving to a big club does not constitute a club merger.

Or they stay as Bandits until September 1st and do a name change then. Parents just sign that they are ok with it. I think the Gunners in the 99 age bracket doing something like that with Ayses.

    That is definitely one alternative.

My question is how willing would parents be to stay with one of the top D1 teams if 50-75% of the players leave? I am sure they could draw plenty of solid players to replace them but it wouldn't be the team that got them there.

The Bandits D1 Bye now belongs to the Dallas Texans according to Ms. Suma Napper of Classic League.

The Bandits merged with with the Texans and because they are a one team club it allows for the bye to transfer.

At least that is how it was explained to me.

    I talked to Suma myself.

We placed third in the challenge tourney, so the conversation was based around us getting into D3 and who was leaving etc. We discussed the Bandits directly and her statement was "They found a way to merge where the Texans get to keep the their bye"

Call it BS if want but she is just a call away. It is not hard to get the information.

Gotcha, sorry I misunderstood. The system is certainly flawed. I am very curious how the Andromeda Byes will play out.
