    98 Boys Final Weekend

Post  M Patient on Tue Mar 22, 2011 11:09 am

It's been another fun season and the boys are really getting good. For all you ex soccer player parents, I think back to my level of play in 7th grade and realize my son is light years ahead of where I was at this age. I hope you're seeing the same thing.

Good luck to all the teams fighting for the top 2 spots or keeping from dropping a division.

Still can't see why you both have so much faith in Kicks for this last game. They are where they are for a reason. Andro by 2.

I think the motivation to save themselves from the drop will be enough to push them through.

I think both teams are motivated and need a win in this last match…. the Andro boys need a win to secure a spot in Premier League and the Kick's need a win to possibly avoid relegation…. it should be a good match.

I predict FCD, RM and Kicks will all win their last game this weekend, thereby, sending Kicks back down to D2.

Yes, obviously they are best at recuriting the best players on the competivie 98 teams and they have the most sponsored players (we count 5 players including kids by new marriage ) in the 98 group in CL = CL only winning formula not USSF.

On ather hand, they will be tested with new Pre academies for both 97 nad 98 age groups... there best players all fall under 97 age Pre Academy, there 98 Preacademy will be avearge if no recruiting happens.

Showld be challenging to all since separation now with USSF for 97 year and 98 year boys.

Pink, please don't be "green" with envy. The Solar '98 team has changed dramatically from year to year.
The constant is the coach, and the core. Repeat after me, the coach matters. Will be fun going forward, but the last three seasons without a loss speaks for itself. Don't be bitter, get even. cheers

Kudos to those boys and the coach for the accomplishment but in a year or two, no one even remember because it doesn't matter. Let's see going forward with the new Pre-Academy league if they still have it.

This site is great but you don't know what to believe. Nonetheless they say most rumors come from facts. Solar was one of the clubs we were looking into. So is this true that this "undefeated" team of several years will be broken up now for this upcoming pre-acdemy season? Does anyone know how many true 98 birthdates are currently on the team?

If the team will have to breakup, that's a whole different ballgame and thats when the coach will truly have to prove if its his coaching or his players that have gotten him this record. Also, is it true that this coach has his two sons on his own team? That sounds like its a big conflict on interest in a game that fields 11 players. Ouch. Thanks for sharing.

Why is that a conflict of interest? The rest of team is well aware of it and they don't seem to mind. And if they do have an issue with it, they can always leave and find another team.
And they are step-sons, by the way.

This team was solid before KS took over them back in the Dynamo days. Don't get me wrong KS has done a good job with the team but true credit should probably go to Partain.

To each his own, but I already dealt with that on one of our old teams and as they say been there, done that. No thanks. You can't honestly believe that there is no conflict of interest when two kids on the team are going home to live with their coach after the game, stepsons or not. Whether you want to admit it or not or whether it bothers you or not there is always going to be some conflict of interest. They might tell the coach they don't mind like many did on our team but talk behind his back and behind closed doors was quite the contrary. But you're right if you don't like it leave and we sure did - in a hurry!

Irish can back me up on this...I believe from the original Dynamo & Solar teams.
3 are of the BB's are from Partain - Dynamo
    I believe 4 BB's are from Woodbury - Solar

Anyway you look at it has been a good run!

    Harp,

You are somewhat correct. Woody did a great job early on with this group, as has Partain. But for the past three years, the person getting them ready during practice and during games was/is Kevin Smith. He put his stamp on this team three years ago, and they clearly listen to him. I don't understand why some on this string bend over backwards to avoid paying a compliment to a coach with this type of run. Yeah, I know, "show me how they do next year, or the year after that, or after that" stuff....which is exactly what they said three years ago when this team started its run. If anyone honestly believes that this squad could have gone undefeated in Classic for 3 years with any other coach, please pass the pipe. Better yet, hire me and I'll give you a good deal, possibly pre-trial diversion!

If you really want to look at a good coach. See him take a group of boys who are NOT the most athletic and biggest boys and develop them and WIN. My vote would go to Ayces. They came from D3 and almost may D1. That has more to do with COACHING than the actual players. If you have the best players on one team they can make any coach look great. Give KS a bunch of mediocre players and see if he can replicate this. I don't think so. Look what happened to FCD when they lost their best player to Solar. It is not ALL due to coach. This is only a part of it.

Kudoes to you! That Solar 98 is nothing but a "98 CL ALL-STAR TEAM" that contains 2 of the best beast playars recruited from the TFC Royal State championship team last year, 1 top mucho grande playar from the Dallas Texans 98 State Runner ups the previous year, 1 top speedy gonzo defender from the Top 3 Andromeda team from last year.

All recruited by KS personelly which means right now he is the best recruiter in the CL hands down with the richest parents from Highland Park at his disposal!

Only compatition for this 98 All Star team is go out of state and take this party somewhere else to see what they got.

Pink, cry me a river. You make some good points, oh wait, they already went to California for the Legends Cup and then to Disney. Hate to rain on your tirade. Keep on hating, it will only make them stronger. cheers
But if you know of any wealthy HP parents, please send them our way, as we don't have any (yet)!

FACT - DEFINITELY NOT THE SAME TEAM THAT WENT AND WON IN CALIFORNIA - NICE TRY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

FACT - NEW TEAM WON DISNEY - WHERE EVERYGROUP IS A WINNER ON A WEAK DISNEY TOURNAMENT.

WE ARE A BANKRUPT CLUB MR SO WE ARE LETTING (THE REST OF US THAT DON'T WIN GAMES)BE OUR HATERS NOT OUR MOTIVATORS!

    LET'S HAVE PEACE ON EARTH.
