    Texoma-Texas xTreme 0:1
I've heard that Texoma was missing couple of their best players though.

    3/30/11
DFW Tornados Blue won 2-0 against CDI
Yellow cards: Tornados 0, CDI 2
    Injuries: Tornados 0, CDI 3

Many thanks to the referrees who worked VERY hard to keep this game under control. Cudos to the Tornados for keeping their cool and sticking to their game.

Tornados play Texoma this Saturday--looking forward to a challenging and CLEAN game.

Yes, I agree. Thats been our experience also when weve played the Tornados. They are constantly cheapshotting and injuring our players, but are very good at it and dont get caught--since it is "their game". Hence, they get away with the terrible conduct and our players, at least those not writhing on the ground injured, end up getting frustrated and carded.

Someone needs to report this Tornado team to the league. PPL2 is essentially rec soccer. It should be for fun and without fear of injuries, despite the poor quality of the play.

    That's VERY FUNNY Crochet...

    Because
    1. This CDI team has NEVER PLAYED this Tornados team before
    2. CDI players were WARNED MULTIPLE TIMES for they're misbehavior by the referree before he even started issuing cards
    3. It was a CDI player that was carded for MAKING RACIAL INSULTS to the referree, and was promised a red card if he continued
    4. I have VIDEO EVIDENCE of the entire game, which clearly shows CDI players making moves on purpose to trip Tornados players and CAUSING THEIR OWN INJURIES

The CDI team's LACK OF SPORTSMANSHIP overshadowed any quality skills they might have, as illustrated by your post attacking the Tornados character when all I did was post the results of the game. The truly skilled teams will be evident by the stats in the end.

Huh? "...all I did was post the results of the game?" Thats not true. You editorialized the results of the game. Hence, I felt compelled to point out our experience from when our team (not CDI) had played the Tornados.

Also, its an oxymoron to refer to a PPL2 team as "truly skilled". No team at that level is truly skilled.

I'd stick with "quality hacks" or perhaps "long ball proficient" or maybe even "rec+plus studs".

Finally, the fact that you keep "VIDEO EVIDENCE" says everything.

Really? You have nothing better to do than insult yourself? If nobody is skilled in PPL2, then what are you doing there?

And since you are supposedly not CDI, then what team are you so that I may review the video?

We arent in PPL2. Classic League. Played you in a tournament a year or two ago. If I recall you didnt get the ball past midfield the entire first half. And we played the 2nd half with only 9 players on the field.

i have to say concerning the posts about CDI i watched them play and they recieved alot of yellow cards . some for kicking players off the ball and other dirty play. they are by no means the the most dirty team i have seen but i would consider them not very sporting.
As for insulting the skill level of the league i believe this league has a few teams that would be competitive in plano 1 easy.this is just my opinion im sure others may disagree.

regarding the comments about different leagues and skill, there isnt a very big shift between plano 2 and 1. just like here's not a big difference between D3 and D2. there are a few exceptions like odessy. Saying that there are players and teams in Plano II that could be in Plano 1 isn't really that much of change. Too classic league, Plano is Plano. just like to academy, classic is classic.

I'm sure there are numerous players in P1 and P2 that could make a Classic team based on their skill and level of play. Last years Metro team who played in P2 had several players make a Classic team this year (same with Texas Stampede). Usually the difference in Classic teams vs Plano/Arlington teams is the number of skilled players on the team and of course how the coach uses those players. I guarantee the top Plano/Arlington teams would fare very well against
    most D3 teams.

I believe that 3 of the top 4 Classic D3 U15 teams (at this point in the season) advanced to Classic this year from Plano and Arlington last year.

Yes, and Odyssey began their initial climb from Plano D2 and just clinched a spot in Classic D1 for next year. After that 1st U11 season there are many teams that can compete in Classic but play in Arlington/Plano. The "system" makes it harder to get into Classic then fall out of. I think the girls Lake Highlands league does it better by only giving certain teams a bye into the
League the next year and having a qualifying tournament to round out the divisions.

Texoma finally got everyone back, but it looks like it might be a little too late. We were missing three starters for the Xtreme game and goal keeper and forward (again) for DFW Tornados. It is what it it is. Congratulations to both Xtreme and Tornados for their wins. Actually were both very competitive clean games. Good luck to both teams.

Rovers made fun of xTreme second half playing "wasting-time-defense" game. Can't really blame them . . .

On xTreme/Texoma game - we did expect it to be much more competitive, sort of missed all the pressure Smile

I agree that there is no "truly skilled" team in PPL2.
There are plenty of talented players who would be able to make Classic if tried, but as a whole team ...

IMHO, meaning of "select soccer" was corrupted.
Instead of "select skillful players and give them a chance to advance" to "take anyone who can pay club fee"...
Well, you can call this selection also...

Tornados 96B Blue won 2-1 over Mutiny FC. Mutiny definitely wanted it more and played with substantially more intensity than the Tornados but couldn't pull out a win or tie.

Doesn't surprise me one bit. Mutiny played with determination on Saturday against the Tornados. They'll beat a lot of teams if they continue to play with that level of hunger.

Unfortunately "level of hunger" does not always help to win
