I seems like we're all in for a bumpy ride in Division I this year waiting to see how things shake out and who ends up at the top of the pack.

DTRS have listed a roster of 17, allowing them 5 double roster spots. Reportedly are bringing back 5 players from last year. Do they have enough former players in the Texan academy/pre system to get to N+1 by double rostering ?

ex-Titans have a listed roster of 22. No double rostering help available. Must straight up have N+1 out of their current roster?

If the byes drop down, it looking like a safe bet that TFC is in, because Tejanos are basically a new team.

It has been posted on their web site for the 96 team for a couple of weeks now that they will play in PL.

The four teams from D1 going into the PL are:

    Texans
    American Eagles
    TFC
    Odyssey

Lots of turnover everywhere else for lots of reasons, but I know for some of the above, this is a welcomed invitation to "broaden" their horizons.

I know Texans(formerly the Titans) and TFC are eligible for Premier League since they were in D1 last year. American Eagles (Tornados) and Odyssey were D2 last year so I didn't think that applied to them. Last year in U16 it didn't apply to Hurst United and Solar White that moved up from D2 so only 2 teams from North Texas were in Premier League.

They apparently have changed that rule as both teams were invited and accepted.

The new Solar Chelsea 96 squad should be at the Plano Labor Day Invitational.

Gotta be former Titans (now DTWW). I don't think DTRS could have met n+1.

There are "warm up" tournaments in Tulsa and Austin prior to CL starting. Anybody from NT going to those?

Ody just got back from Minnesota and are looking at PLW travel so I would imagine we will stay local.

Looks like we have teams that accepted the PL invitation but are not willing to put in the PL $$ and committment that goes along with the territory.

Lol-the tournaments here are just as good if not better than tournaments in Oklahoma, Houston , or Austin. The Plano tournament attracts alot of teams from outside of North Texas. When Ody and the Eagles planned their summer tournaments they had no idea the would receive an invite to play premier. There is nothing wrong with watching the "bottom line" of a budget.

Agree fellow soccerdad, but the question was what pre-season warm up tourneys. CL starts well before Labor Day.

Also interested in knowing which teams you are talking about. I would think all of the teams will play some sort of "warm up" tournament.

Teams that have new rosters (apparently all but 4) need the warm up tournament. Look for the teams that had little turnover to get off to a faster start in league play.

And you would be............incorrect. Eagles will be in a pre-season tourney. There is a huge differnce between cost for a local tourney vs. away, like 1000% higher out of town. Don't get me wrong, these teams do out of towns plenty. The difference is some have ALREADY done the prep, some haven't... two a days start soon...

I think that would have been what I predicted (Tejanos), as they looked really good at the end of the season. However, I think they had a lot of turnover.

I cannot begin to pick this year, as I think there has been SO much turnover at so many teams.

Here is the list, for those who would venture a prediction.

Throw out your top 2 and bottom 2, in each division, perhaps...
    D1
SOLAR CHELSEA 96B (MARTINEZ) (Texas North)
ANDROMEDA FC 96B RED (HANCAPIE) (Texas North)
FC DALLAS YOUTH 96B PREMIER (OANCEA) (Texas North)
DALLAS TEXANS SC 96B RED DALLAS (ASHMAWY) (Texas North)
DFW TEJANOS 96 PREMIER (MOLANO) (Texas North)
    TFC 96B (PUSKARICH) (Texas North)
DALLAS TEXANS SC 96B RED SOUTH (ADAMES) (Texas North)
DALLAS TEXANS SC 96B WHITE WEST (MOLINA) (Texas North)
AMERICAN EAGLES 96B WHITE ((SCHINDLER) (Texas North)
ODYSSEY SC 96B BLUE (GALLAGHER) (Texas North)
    D2
ANDROMEDA FC 96B (AJDUKOVICH) (Texas North)
SOLAR CLESEA RED 96B (QUIROZ) (Texas North)
DALLAS TEXANS SC 96B RED WEST (HODDER) (Texas North)
FC DALLAS YOUTH 96B (CHE) (Texas North)
CLASSIC SC 96B WEST (GONZALEZ) (Texas North)
COMETS SC 96B BLUE (BERTL) (Texas North)
NORTH TEXAS STRIKERS 96B (LOPEZ) (Texas North)
DALLAS TEXANS SC 96B WHITE (SHAMU) (Texas North)
AMARILLO LIGHTNING SC 96B (WEBB)) (Texas North)
INTERNATIONAL FC 96B (BELTRAN) (Texas North)
    D3
TEXAS LONGHORNS SC 96B ORANGE (ASENIME) (Texas North)
SELECT FORCE FC 96B (HASKINS) (Texas North)
TEXAS LIGHTNING SC 96B BLACK (PICKARD) (Texas North)
JACKSONVILLE SA FLASH 96B (TRAVIS) (Texas North)
KICKS FC 96B (CASTANEDA) (Texas North)
UNITED STRIKERS 96B (ESCOBAR)) (Texas North)
TFC 96B BLUE (SCHELL) (Texas North)
COLLEYVILLE SA 16 AMIGOS GOLD 96B (FRIEDMAN) (Texas North)

    OK, I'll dive in first...

    D1
    3-6 are up for grabs
    1. DTR - kept some of last yrs players.
    2. DTRS - dual rostered players will help.
    3. TFC - they were in D1 last yr, that gives them an advantage.
    4. AE - with a diluted D1, they should compete nicely.
    5. Ody - with a diluted D1, they should compete nicely.
    6. FCD - the thrill is gone... to academy ball.
    7. Tejanos - 14 players and some are coming from Plano. Long yr ahead.
    8. Solar - did they picked up new talent? Grossly out played last yr.
    9. DTWW - any decent player was taken by DTR or their academy
10 Andro - combo of D2 and D3 players, good luck.

    D2
I expect those teams that have been together more than 1 yr should finish top 5. Bottom 3 can swap places.

    1. COMETS - as long as they have most of the roster from last yr, they should be fine.
    2. FCD - as long as they have most of the roster from last yr, they should be fine.
    3. AM LIGHT - existing team for more than a yr so they should be OK.
    4. INTER - existing team for more than a yr so they should be OK.
    5. CC - lots of turn over so they are kind of a new team.
    6. SOLAR RED - have a core of D2 players from last yr.
    7. DTRW - trickle down affect... any good player moved up the club ladder.
    8. NTS - they play hard, they can sneak up the table.
    9. DTW - who's the coach? Doesn't matter, they lost players from last yr.
10 ANDROMEDA FC - D3 team that finished bottom half of the table last yr. Good luck.
