What happens to the current teams? Do they have to give up the name and take on another name? I think I heard that if a certain percent of the roster stays intact, then the team can change their name while holding onto their rank in classic.

My educated guess is that each coach and team are on their own. The coaches that like to get paid have found a new club or are trying to find a new club.

Well I saw JB in PHP wearing the FCD uniform for the Coaches and practicing to the Academy and also the 01 boys from Andro. So begin to guess.

There are club-wide Manager meetings scheduled for yesterday and today...so word should be out soon.

Many of the coaches have made the decision to remain with Andromeda and move forward as a club under new leadership. Many key coaches in the club will be involved in this leadership. Over the last several weeks they have solicited support and advice from attorneys, business leaders, the USSF and the coaches. They have made significant progress and are optimistic that Andromeda will be successful under some restructuring and under this new leadership.

I hope they don't release another $4M infusion on their website and start giving away scholarships like free government milk and cheese. Hopefully the new leaders of Andro learned how they got to this mess. Good luck and hopefully Andro get themselves out this and be one of the elite clubs in the DFW area.

Kudos to the new leadership situation, I do think it will be a good model. The cash infusion is still 'in play', but, it's not being counted on (counting the chickens AFTER they hatch this time).

I think the telling item is the support of the coaches and willingness to stay with Andro despite all the external forces and options. Keep in mind, they, not the parents/players were the ones who had the greatest reason for animosity and reason to leave.

Although this board is full of bloodlust in terms of those wanting to see clubs go away or experience pain, I truly hope people understand the club is not much different than most, and without it's own training area, is very similar to most. There is potential for future use of ATF, but, as with any complex financial situation, there is no definitive timeline.

Unless the money has truely come in, this is all BS. First off, a couple coaches does not equal "many". Second of all, you can re-structure all you want, Andromeda is in a big financial hole and unless someone comes up with big dough, the club is going nowhere. I would think that coaches that are contractually owed money would have something to say in all this or maybe a few of the vendors/contractors that are owed money??? And then they would have to prove they can sustain themselves for the next few years so they can keep academy.........Not happening without money. But then again, I did hear it was coming in on Tuesday so maybe this 52nd Tuesday, it really has...........

Maybe it will be like the Mexico regime a couple years back, two sets of "leaders" running the place at once.

It only means that the guy who originally had the money, still has some and is breathing. Keep in mind, he's owed quite a bit of cash - so, it's in his best interest to stay 'in play' until he gets his money back or something changes that might pique his interest (i.e. change in mgmt). One can only imagine his motivations/generosity to this point. I've learned from this that youth sports does not make a welcoming target for charitable endeavors.

I'll believe it when I see it, but at least they aren't lying down - they do have a plan. Don't know if it will work, but it looks similar to other clubs that are still kicking.


I've seen many businesses in worse shape than this turn around, the biggest difference/hurdle is that there is a definitive timeline for soccer - i.e. if they don't do something prior to mid June, it will be very difficult to have enough teams to sustain USSF teams/funding. I think I would jump on offers from other clubs to remain Andro, but be their little brother, I don't know all options available, but that seems to be a pretty simple one (although you would effectively lose control of the club - is that so bad?).

I hate to burst everyone's bubble, Soccergrinder your statements are more fiction than fact... First of all nothing can happen at Andro until that man at the top is removed. If forclosure of the fields did not make it happen I doubt any thing else will.

Secondly this "new leadership" is a few coaches and I stress the word few. They have spoken to quite a few people over the last few weeks, but they are interpeting what is being said wrong.

Obviously you have no idea what YOU are talking about. MY statements are FACTS. No if ands or buts. There is no way to dispute them. The information I posted was sent to me. Those ARE the facts. Now if you want to dispute the information that was sent to me then that is another question. But what I wrote IS what I was sent in an email.

There are rumors coming from younger teams. I hope one of the coaches isn't jumping the gun by announcing things prematurely.

The old management has not stepped down and from several people in the know- he won't.

It will come down to who gets the rights to the Academy Teams and that is a long way from being decided.

Andromeda will exist but there may be 3-4 different scenarios. I know of three clubs trying to work deals and have to submit 5 years of financials to even be considered in the running by USSF soccer (who has the rights to the Academy teams).

There are 3 groups of coaches within the Andromeda group. Most are entertaining offers but none will tell you they are leaving yet.

It will be an interesting next few weeks and anything can still happen.

If Andro continues to exist it will be at a very small level compared to what they were. All the coaches that attracted players to the club are out of there and they aren't going to be part of pre-academy. Its a valiant effort to try to maintain the club but unfortunately I think its wishful thinking on the part of the few left behind. Sad situation for N. Texas soccer.

Maybe that was the problem with the business model. Even in slavery the "employees" don't pay!
