Is the AFC adidas and the ASG Adidas the same tournament? They are being promoted by 2 different clubs, but both tournaments look to be at Railroad in Lewisville, which may be closed that weekend. Can some one clue me in?

No, they are different tournaments. I think the AFC was this past weekend as was rained out. ASG Adidas has Rail Road the weekend of June 3-5.

I thought the ASG tournament is June 3-5. That's what their website says. Why would ASG also need Railroad the following weekend June 10-12?

TFC 94 won Premier League, State Cup, and Classic DI league for the 2010 - 2011 soccer year. They will play AYSES 94 Gold in a friendly at the ASG College Showcase this Saturday, June 4th at 3 PM. These are two great teams with players entering their senior year. AYSES with its possession style brand of soccer (FC Barcelona style)versus TFC with more of a direct style of play. This would be a great chance for younger players to watch a great game of older players who are showcasing for college coaches. There will be some good college coaches on the sidelines for this game including SMU, University of Wisconsin, St. Louis University,Houston Baptist, and University of Tulsa.

TFC 94 is heading to the Gothia World Youth Cup this July and AYSES 94 Gold is heading to the Score at the Shore College Showcase in Greensboro, North Carolina in July. TFC 94 will also be playing in the USYSA regionals representing North Texas in June.

ASG REALLY dropped the ball on Five Star for your tournament.

NO field lines. Started chalking the fields AFTER 8am games started.
NO nets. Once nets did show up, parents had to install and use their own tie wraps to secure.

You would think the top-dollar fees they required clubs to pay for this tournament would be sufficient to pay someone to take care of these details....

Completely agree. And you did not even mention that several teams had to play at 4 different fields almost 20 miles apart, the fields were of varying sizes, etc. What a joke of a tournament.

Did spk to parents of 94's and they advised no college coaches were seen at the college showcase...

The only scouting I saw were FCD coaches approaching 12 & 13 year old boys to collect more bodies. It would be interesting to know the total number of players who show up with a "promise" of a contract on signing day, that are sent away to scramble and find an opportunity to sign with any other team. IMHO, you should not be able to approach any child and have any discussions without a parent present. I cannot imagine any tweenager being mature enough to have those discussions.

Great - I love how they can put the word "showcase" on the end of the tournament name and jack the fees for U15 and up by $100 (and at the same time eliminate costs of paying refs for semi's and finals). Genius.

The college coach turn out was not as good as what was shown on their web site as college coaches signed up. There was some DI and DIII college coaches though on the sidelines for the TFC vs AYSES 94 Super Group game on Saturday. They stayed the whole game not sure what they did earlier in the day. Definitely not as good of Showcase as the FC Dallas College Showcase that was hosted in March.
