Looks like they already have: one TBA and the TXL 99Black
    Ken Smith Qualifying

That looks like the listing including the memorial day tournament teams--could be some of those you are looking at are just in the tournament, not the challenge. Is there somewhere else you are looking that tells you exactly which teams are in the challenge?

If you look at the bottom six (6) teams listed in an age group those should be the challange teams. Bottom two from DIII and two each from Plano and Arlington.

Except that in this case, you have to include the bottom 8 to include FCD Black from DIII.

Can someone who has experience clarify what pre-academy is? I'm hearing two different stories:

Story one is there are 30 games a year and about 15 are on the road = significant time and $ plus not allowing participation in high school sports / activities.

Story two says there are roughly 15 games a year and only 2 - 3 weekends on the road = less time and $ and allows participation in high school and some players can also be rostered on a classic team.

Since this is the first year for pre-academy in NTX, I think there are a lot of rumors flying around. What is the truth?

Since this announcement they have added Andro. So now there will be 16 games - home and away with each team. They will follow the USSF DA schedule.

You can look up the DA teams schedule from this year and last year to see when, where they played.

    Hope this helps.

16 league games plus some tournaments--probably closing in on 30 games (which is a fiar amount less than many classic teams).

The schedule will not exactly follow the DA, since DA play teams outside their division as well, but I don't think Pre-Academy will. For league play that means 11 games in the DFW area and 5 elsewhwere in TX.

Not sure if the DA rule on no HS will also be applied to Pre-Acad, but not all that many pre-academy kids are going to be in HS.

9 teams. 16 games. Home and away schedule. You play each team twice. So three trips to Houston (Houston Dynamo, Texas Rush and Houston Texans) one trip to Austin (Lonestar) and one trip to San Antonio (Classics Elite).

Pretty much the same rules as DA. 18 player game day roster. 7 substitutions.

One difference than DA is you can play tournaments. Probably automatic bids into Dallas Cup and Disney.

Here is a link to the rulebook for NorCal Premiere League. I assume the Texas division will be very much the same.
